Summary
Crossflame Youth Choir & Orchestra has over 80 middle- and high-school students from 5 counties in western North Carolina. Now in its 18th year, the choir has served more than 1000 youth since 1995. This year, the group will travel to New York and New Jersey to help in disaster relief in the wake of Super Storm Sandy. They will also perform a number of concerts that feature the vocalists, instrumentalists, dancers, artists, and actors.
Crossflame members and their families engage in fundraising activities throughout the year. However, costs continue to increase so additional funds are needed to cover the cost of tour and on-going outreach. No youth is ever excluded from tour or outreach because of financial need.
What happens if you decide to support Crossflame? The lives of children and families devastated by Super Storm Sandy will be touched by the kindness of Crossflame youth. Homes will be rebuilt. Trash removed. Hope restored. The power of music and drama will reach hundreds of hurting people. Crossflame members and their families will engage in service and performances that impact their lives and the lives of so many others.
What We Need & What You Get
We need money for transportation and lodging for 90 youth, teachers, and chaperones for this summer’s tour. All donations we receive during tour concerts go to other worthy causes like disaster relief and children’s and women’s organizations. Crossflame wants to do even more outreach. Hitting our goal will mean we can do more in our own community.
The Impact
Crossflame Choir has an 18 year history of helping youth grow through music and arts, while serving the needs of others. Lives are changed as we learn the transforming power of music, arts, faithful service and compassion.
