The idea
We need your help to create a mobile app for finding lost dogs, cats and other pets. It will be a location-based social app allowing all users to easily participate in the search of lost pets. The app will be global. We're planning to create both Android and iOS versions and they will be free for all users.
When the app is ready, every user will be able to create an account including information about their pet, such as name, breed, the way it looks, etc. Uploading photos and multimedia will also be supported. Then your account will be ready and you will be a part of our Crowdfind network.
So, if someday you lose your pet, all you will have to do is create an alert in Crowdfind. It will be location-based and every user near you will see the alert in real time on their phones, including the location where your pet was lost. Then they can click the alert to indicate they will participate in the search.
This way the crowd will be involved in the search of your pet in minutes and everyone will see the position of all other users nearby, so they can search in different areas and fill the empty spots on the map. If they find the pet, they can compare it with the picture from the alert and call the owner.
We're sure that this mobile app can help a lot of people and their pets. We will be very grateful if you help us to collect the money we need to start the project and develop it.
The team
We are young people from Bulgaria with journalistic background and a passion for animals. Alexander Alexandrov is an IT journalist and has started some small online projects in Bulgaria, including a web site for education, as well as one for teen news. Maria Ivanova has five years of experience in social journalism.
What do we need money for?
To develop the application and start the project we need 24 300 euro (appr. $32 570).
This includes 18 400 euro (appr. $24 680) for the app, distributed as follows:
- app design – about 1 000 euro (appr. $1 340)
- server development – 5 000 euro (appr. $6 707)
- Android app development – 5 000 euro (appr. $6 707)
- iOS app development – 5 000 euro (appr. $6 707)
- hosting and Internet for the server – 100 euro per month or 1 200 euro for the first year (appr. $1 610)
- support including bug fixing and small developments – 1 200 euro for the first year (appr. $1 610)
We will need another 5 900 euro (appr. $7 907) for administration, legal services and marketing. This includes:
- creating Terms and Conditions, other legal services – 1 000 euro (appr. $1 340)
- creating texts for the app – 200 euro (appr. $268)
- PR activities during the first year – 1 500 euro (appr. $2 012)
- pay-per-click advertising in the most popular online platforms – 2 000 euro (appr. $2 680)
- administration and communications with users – 100 euro per month and 1 200 euro per year (appr. $1 610)
Our future plans
We're planning to run this project as a business. All functions of the mobile application will remain free for all users and we will add advertisements in order to be able to guarantee the future development and maintenance of the project. We hope that Crowdfind will become a popular global platform for people and their pets.
Every contributor who donates money during this campaign will receive a Founder status, visible in their account in the app. Only you and the members of our team will have such status.
