Short Summary
The first Arabic movie of its kind. Cut is a thriller movie that is taking Arabic film making to the next level. It is definitely the first Arabic feature that makes a practical use of VFX (Visual Effects) and CG (Computer Graphics). The goals are:
- Encourage Arabic film makers to make movies challenging the rest of the world, especially Hollywood.
- Introduce a new genre to the Arabic Cinemas.
- Prove that CG can make a difference in Arabic movies regardless how simple the idea is.
- To introduce Arabic film makers, with focus on Kuwaiti, to the world as new challengers.
Our team is highly trained and professional artists and businessmen/women who has a great passion and background in the media field. We are international team that is consisted of several nationalities including, not limited to, Kuwait, Sweden, Egypt and Lebanon.
Some of our team members:
- Raed Abbas, Producer/Director, MA in Filmmaking with a VFX background who has more than 15 years of experience in the film and media field. Abbas has a long list of projects he worked on including Savior 1998, Dennis Quaid and Captain America 2011, Chris Evans and Samuel Jackson.
- Jasem Abbas, Main Character (Ayad), professional actor who started his career late 80s.
- Samah Ghandour, Main Character (Emma), Ghandour has won miss Lebanon back in 2008 and has been TV presenter and actor in many international TV channels for over 8 years.
- John Al-Sharqawi, DP, one of the best DPs in Kuwait and GCC area for more than 10 years. He has worked in projects for most of well-known TV channels including National Geography, Dubai TV, MBC and many more.
What We Need & What You Get
Post-Production, Print and Advertising and festivals are our concern for the next period. This film has a goal that is more important than just earning tickets. Therefore, we believe that we need to focus on the quality of our work. To help spread the word we also need to be well presented in festivals. Finally, everyone is aware of the importance of advertising and marketing and their high costs.
We will focus our attention on completing the post-production. As you may already know VFX is a very costly art. Our film is relying heavily on VFX. Once we get its costs our next target will be marketing the film.
