Bullying is a very serious matter. I believe if we can stop it at the pre-school level we may be able to get a handle it before children reach middle school.
My name is Lynda D. Brown and I own my own independent publishing company. I reached Amazon Best Seller status in the spring of 2012, with my Christian Fiction Supernatural Thriller Series, Invisible Enemies. I have also published a non-fiction book, Powerful Prayers to Protect & Bless Your Family and a how to book, How to Convert Your Published Book into an Audio Book. I'm in the final stages of publishing my first children's book, Damien's New Bike. This is the first book in my Kingdom Kids Series. I also promote other authors with my Author Chat member website and podcast on blogtalkradio.com. All of my books are available in paperback, eBooks and audio books. Having control of my work and vision is very important to me.
This campaign will help me publish my children's book, Damien & the Bully.This series teaches pre-schoolers to 2nd graders how to effectively deal with daily problems and issues they face using biblical principles. The main character is my five year old grandson Damien Brown. Damien is bi-racial and is very talented. He plays three instruments, the piano, the guitar and the cello.
This series will feature children of all races, something we don't really see in children's books and also the biblical teaching and messages in the book are not overbearing. In book one Damien wanted a new bike for his birthday, but when his parents put his old bike up for sale and a toddler wanted to buy it, Damien threw a tantrum, wanting to keep the bike for himself. He finally agrees to let the toddler have the bike.
I believe that its important to teach these values at a young age, and to allow the child to decide how they want to make a difference in someone's life.
If you would help me by contributing to my project, I believe we can really make a difference in the lives of children, especially those who may not be exposed to biblical teachings.
I will use the money collected on Indiegogo to pay my very talented illustrator, a young woman that I found here in the St. Louis area who agreed to do my illustrations and layout for the book at a reduced rate, and possible turn the book into an interactive app for tablets and smartphones.
For people that contribute $100 to this project, I'll use the first name of your child or grandchild as one of the characters in a future book. Other perks are: eBook copy of both book one and two, and your name listed as a contributor in the books.
If I don't reach my goal, I will use the funds I do receive and still publish the books in print and eBook format.
