Your Money Makes Art Happen!

It's almost time for Sideshow Crazy 8! A two-day festival of art and music that celebrates the local arts scene and is unique in Dayton for its variety, ambition, and all-volunteer grassroots energy. This year's Sideshow will feature a variety of artwork including paintings, photographs, sculptures and video installations from more than 50 artists as well as performances by over 20 musical acts. Admission is free, and open to everyone.

That doesn't mean The Sideshow is free to put on though - this year we estimate operating costs to be approximately $5000, for items such as tents, sound pros & equipment, required permits and much more - and this is where we need your help.

Our campaign is only for $1500, less than a third of our estimated budget. If we exceed our goal (and we hope we will by a lot!) know that all the money will be used to make the Sideshow even better!

If you're an artist or musician that has participated in a past Sideshow, please donate! If you are friends with artists or musicians who have participated in a Sideshow, please donate! If you just like the idea of supporting a great art show or seeing cool things happen in Dayton, Ohio, please donate!

Any amount helps whether it is $5 or $500... think about it, where else will you get to see that amount of art and music for $5!

It's not just your money that makes art happen, your friend's money works too! Look at some of the big dollar perks we have and pool your money together to get them. Who wouldn't want a private rock show with 40 of your friends? Share this all over facebook and anywhere else that you can think of as well - the more it is out there, the better chance we have of exceeding our goal!

And keep checking back, we will be adding new perks through the month.

Most important, even if you can't afford to donate, make sure you come to The Sideshow on May 10 & 11 at the Yellow Cab building (700 E. 4th St.) and see what gets created!

Your Money Makes Art Happen!

The Sideshow is magic - both for the people who participate and for those who attend. Built by artists just for the sheer fun of celebrating art and music, it is a unique show. This is our eighth year holding The Sideshow, and it is safe to say that hundreds of artists and musicians have added their talent and emotion to the Sideshow. For many it was their first time exhibiting or playing in front of a live audience. For others, it was a chance to experiment and try totally new things. You may have participated in past Sideshows yourself, and know the magic that we speak of... if not it is likely that you know at least one person, and more likely multiple people who have played a part in putting on the Sideshow. Your donations help make all this possible.
