Dear Life is an original play written by Sophia Woodward and directed by Sachi Lovatt. It will be premiering at the 2013 Vancouver Fringe Festival. Come support independent, local theatre!
Site-Specific Theatre
Dear Life is part of the Fringe Onsite Program in the 2013 Vancouver Fringe Festival. This is site-specific theatre, meaning the show is written for, and performed at, a specific location: the Granville Island kid's waterpark.
Synopsis
Two sisters trapped in the realm between life and death battle a fearful darkness that holds them there. Will they take grasp of the life they let slip through their fingers, or be ferried prematurely to their death -- or worse, be condemned to limbo for eternity? Sibling angst and sword fights ensue.
We are actors, friends and roommates embarking to create our own work and tell compelling, relevant stories. Together we created the theatre production company, The Seicho Sisters. "Seicho" means growth. We constantly seek personal growth and development in our personal and creative lives.
Since a very young age, Sophia has dreamed of creating her own work and playing her own characters. She is thrilled for her play, Dear Life, to mark the beginning of this dream's realization.
This is a non-for-profit endeavour. We have a budget of $1200 that is soley dedicated to the production itself. Funds are needed for: props, extension cords, sound equipment, graphic design, poster printing, photography, videography, lights, costumes, make up, set dec, and more. And this doesn't even include the $800 Fringe mentorship program fee!
