Hello IndieGogo friend! We are a group of dinosaur, visual effects, and film enthusiasts.
Our collective background is in animation and vfx production. Our short film, Dino Hunt, depicts a herd of Styracosaurs as they are hunted by a pack of Dromaeosaurs.
Dino Hunt represents the first installment of our dinosaur-inspired short films, which we hope to share with other enthusiasts. Not only is the film inspired by a consolidation of current paleontological research, but it challenges us as storytellers and technical artists.
We recognize that the best realistic creature films weave real-world and fictional elements together seamlessly. For this reason, we have chosen to film the live-action environments in the majestic forests of the Lake Tahoe area, in Northern California. This IndieGoGo campaign is intended to fund the filming of these environments for which the action will be animated and composited.
Why Tahoe? Through research, we felt that the rocky, conifer-heavy forests of Tahoe may have had similarities with the Northern American region during the Cretaceous period.
How much funding do we need for four days of filming in Tahoe? $13,000
To help explain how the funds break down, we’ve created a nifty pie-chart. (We’re visual people)

What's in it for you? When it comes to perks, we tried to make t-shirts we’d want to wear, stickers we’d want to plaster the world with, and postcards we could send to our parents. Are you for Team Styracosaurus or Team Dromaeosaurus? Let us know!
In return for supporting us, you can choose from the following perks:

Filming in Tahoe will mark the beginning of Dino Hunt’s long, arduous journey to full completion. The film itself will be completed in June of 2014. Our intentions for the finished short film will be to share it with the people we have made it for, which is you. It will be released online and submitted into film festivals.
If you are excited about the project, but are unable to contribute in the funding arena, there are many ways to help! Share our progress with others! Follow us on Twitter and Instagram! And we always enjoy receiving tips on where to find the latest dinosaur discoveries!
There are many stages and obstacles between now and then, but we’re excited by the challenges and anticipate learning along the way. Thank you for supporting Dino Hunt!
