UPDATE: 01/10/13 - PLEASE DO NOT CONTRIBUTE
Unfortunately, due to issues with the space outside of our control, we can no longer run this campaign at the moment. We hope to have a new space up and running soon, and you will all be invited along. In the meantime, thank you so much for all your support. Anyone who has contributed will be refunded shortly.

DNA is a new community multi-platform venue within the city centre of Glasgow. We recently opened a building that had been sitting empty for 15 years, and over the past few months have been using it to create an inclusive community space for the people of Glasgow. A place to connect, to create and share.

Why we need your help:

We wanted to reclaim a space to really support the people of Glasgow. Over the last few months we've managed to have some really great projects including a national campaign that supported young creatives, pop up art galleries, gourmet insect pop up restaurants (you read that right the first time!) fashion pop ups and new business networking evenings on no budget. Thanks to volunteers and the support of the local community we've been able to begin to turn the space from an abandoned building site in to a functional community space.

However to refurbish the space and open other rooms in the venue, we need your support to help create a sustainable cultural hub within the city centre. We want to make sure that there is somewhere the people of Glasgow have real ownership of and really connect with the venue.

With your help we'll be able to stay open – continuing to support interesting local projects as well as open more rooms for people to use. We want to be a key space as part of Glasgow's cultural landscape.

Pennies and Pounds:

DNA is looking to raise £10,000 to keep our space open and refurbish and open new spaces within the venue.

With your donations we'll be able to make DNA bigger and better than ever before. DNA worked with some brilliant young creatives to begin restoring the space over the Summer but there is still lots more we want to do!

We have opened only a small part of DNA available for use and we want to make sure that we can make it the best place possible.

Share, connect and spread:

With your support we can really open up what DNA is and create a new community creative space in the city centre of Glasgow. Fancy helping us out?

  • Share, share, share. Facebook, twitter, pinterest – what ever. Let the people know! We are shouting from our proverbial rooftops about this campaign and we'd love for you to join us in speading the word.

  • Volunteer. Got spare time and a skill? If you want to help us continue developing the space we are always looking for extra hands to muck in around the space.

  • Pop along to our events, see what we're about and come be part of the DNA community!

So give what ever you can, share with your friends, family, people on the streets and together we can help create a creative community hub we can all be proud of.
