Overview
Welcome to Dollar A Day! We are an online giving platform that helps support charities, nonprofits, and other organizations that help provide opportunities to disadvantaged and at-risk children the ability to pursue their passions in sports, music, and creative arts. We are also very passionate about getting others to be more actively involved with philanthropy by creating a simple, transparent, and affordable way to give back by simply asking them to donate just one dollar a day with $30.42 monthly payments, and to share Dollar A Day with their friends and family! We have launched our website, but will not be accepting donations through the website until June 1, 2013.
We have placed a very strong emphasis on transparency and making sure our donors are consistently updated on where their money is going and who they are helping so they know that their dollars are making a difference in children’s lives. We will use social media outlets, such as Facebook and Twitter, to regularly update our donors on their impact, and we will also post our monthly financial statements on our blog page to maintain a high level of transparency and allow every donor to see where each dollar is being allocated each month!
We chose to focus on sports, music, and creative arts education because we believe that they are very important to childhood development, and unfortunately, they are the first three things that are being eliminated from our school systems due to continuous budget cuts. If these educational areas have made an impact in your life, then Dollar A Day is a great way to get started giving back to children in need of these amazing activities!
Dollar A Day is a For-Profit C-Corporation in Texas, NOT a non-profit organization. Not every organization supporting children is a non-profit, and we want to be free to choose those organizations that provide the best support for every community. Our business model also rewards donors who sign up and encourage others to donate. Our reason for doing this is that we want to encourage others to get more actively involved in philanthropy and to make giving back a bigger part of their lives.
However, we do operate similarly to most efficient non-profit organizations and charities by giving away 80% of our donations to our partnering organizations and programs, and Dollar A Day will use the remaining 20% to pay business expenses and overhead so we can continue to help more and more children each year. Our growth plan also anticipates lowering our overhead percentage over time as our contributions increase!

What We Need & What You Get
What We Need:
We are looking to raise $100,000 in order to expand the Dollar A Day team and infrastructure so we can make a larger impact on the communities and children we help! We have already developed a beautiful website and have started helping children in our local community.

Raising $100,000 on this campaign will help us to:
- Provide a strong company foundation to allow for continuity.
- Grow our donor base and expand to new markets and communities to help more children.
- Expand the Dollar A Day team and infrastructure so that we can efficiently and effectively help more children and communities.
What You Get:
We are encouraging people to make contributions of either $30 or $100 to Dollar A Day, and we are offering different rewards for helping support our company, but any contributions will help!
- For $30 contributions, you will receive a custom made Dollar A Day “Flopper Stopper” that you can strap on your flip flops to prevent them from breaking.
- For $100 contritbutions, you will receive a custom made Dollar A Day T-Shirt or Hat, as well as a custom “Flopper Stopper” that you can proudly wear to show your support for Dollar A Day and the children we are helping!

If we are unable to reach our goal of $100,000, we will still be launching the company in June of 2013. However, if we are able to raise $100,000 or more, we can expand our team to allow Dollar A Day to grow and to expand at a much quicker rate to more communities. The quicker Dollar A Day grows, the more children we can help!
The Impact
At Dollar A Day, we strongly believe that we have the potential to help change many children’s lives and to provide them with an opportunity to pursue their dreams. We strongly believe we can encourage others to become more actively involved in philanthropy and to learn how the power of giving can help themselves and others around the world. This is a lesson that will stay with them for the rest of their lives, and will also help kids all around the world pursue their passions in sports, music, and creative arts. We want to Help People Help Others, and we believe that by just giving a dollar a day away to someone in need, we can change the world!
Dollar A Day has already started helping children thanks to the support of local community members. An example of our program support involves a young 10-year-old girl who has an amazing gift and passion for the arts. She had been taking art lessons for several months, and recently was forced to stop because her father lost her job and he is unable to pay for her classes. We are very happy that Dollar A Day was able to step in and help her continue to pursue her passion for arts until her father is able to find another job! This will be one of many success stories. Other Ways You Can Help
We understand that not everyone can help contribute financially to our campaign but there are many other great ways you can help! We would greatly appreciate it if you spread the word about our company to your friends and family and share your passion for helping others through your various social media outlets. You can also use the share tools in Indiegogo to spread the information around the people you love and care about!
Also, we strongly encourage you to go out and give your time and volunteer to help someone in need. This is the greatest way to impact someone’s life without spending any money at all!
