What is it?
It is the world's first E-INK Ebook Reader and
Monitor 2in1 device. We call it CBR. After the campaign ending, we
will reveal what CBR stands for to our contributors.
The purpose of this project is to use a regular
E-INK ebook reader as a second computer monitor, displaying text or images that
are displayed on LCD/TV monitors onto the E-INK ebook reader device. It’s better
for the eyes and much more readable for the user.

How does CBR work?
As an E-INK ebook reader: just use it like
any E-INK ebook reader.

What is E-INK?
E-INK displays are great for your eyes
The E-INK (also called electronic paper or
epaper) screen is easier on the eyes for reading documents and web pages. Its
displays are easier to read than backlight displays, because they mimic the
appearance of ink on paper. You will not experience eye strain after long time
reading.
E-INK enabled displays are easily readable
even in direct sunlight because E-INK displays reflect light like ordinary
paper.
E-INK enabled displays are green
If we could replace all paper newspapers
with eNewspapers tomorrow, it would save 95 million trees which could remove 98
million tons of greenhouse gas each year.
E-INK Displays save 60% energy vs. LCD/LED. There
are 6 billion electronic displays in mobile devices, computers and signage
worldwide consuming 2,300,000 Megawatt Hours.

What have we done so far?
We had already made the prototype of our CBR
and its molding in March 2013. A small quantity trial production was
implemented in May 2013, it was very successful. Our software and hardware
design is complete. What you see on the photos are real working units.

Why do we need your help?
We need your support at Indiegogo to help us to
fund our first mass production and manufacturing run. That means making
thousands of these devices to ship around the world. We also need your help to
develop ebook reader monitors with bigger size display such as 9.7inch. You'll
be worldwide amongst the first to have one so you can tell your friends and the
whole world too.

What's Next?
We’re now getting ready to start production of
our CBR but we need your help to accomplish that. With the support from
Indiegogo we'll be able to start our first manufacturing run and we hope
to start shipping them to you in November 2013.
The product contains an E-INK Ebook reader with
a USB cable and a microfiber protection bag in one box.
The products you will get:
The CBRs are available in two display types, E-INK
panel with and without light.
1. The
standard device uses a 6inch E-INK pearl white panel without front light,
resolution: 800x600.
2. The
advanced device uses a 6inch E-INK pearl white HD panel with front light,
resolution: 1024x758. With the front light, you can even use it in the
darkness. (The Amazon Kindle Paperwhite uses such a panel with front light)

Schedule
The board is ready for manufacturing; the
factory is only waiting for the final quantity; that will be available at the
end of this campaign, so the production will start immediately after this
campaign is over, the 16th of October.
We have organized the whole process to be
