Since it's founding in 2012 FaultLine Theater has been committed to producing exciting new work by young and emerging Bay Area artists. After staging such poignant and intimate dramas as "The Queen's Gambit" and "Necrologue for 3" FaultLine is taking on it's largest and most ambitious project yet with LIFE MACHINE, adapted and directed by Cole Ferriaoulo. With a cast of 15 actors and dancers and a 2500 square foot performance venue this show is taking FaultLine to a whole new level.

LIFE MACHINE tells the story of a young woman pushed to the point of murder. Set amid the shifting economic and technological landscape of 21st century America, Cole Ferraiuolo's radical retelling of this real life murder case presents an immersive media world of sound, movement, projection and performance. LIFE MACHINE revitalizes age old questions of gender, power, and oppression and asks us all to reconsider what we are truly capable of.

This is the first collaboration between FaultLine Theater and The Defiance Project, two companies founded by current and recent UC Berkeley students. This piece explores a darkly extrapolated near future and critiques the evermore intimate role that technology plays in our collective lives.

To pull off this show we need to rent a venue, build a set consisting of video displays and projection surfaces, costume our cast of actors and dancers, install lighting and audio equipment, and pay our actors enough for them to get to and from rehearsals and the show. Our last two shows netted enough so that we can cover almost 50% of the upfront costs of LIFE MACHINE. We're asking for you to help us rent the venue. Each dollar donated rents us a square foot of space.
