Who We Are and What We're Trying to Do
Safe Gun Technology is developing unique gun safety technology using biometric fingerprint recognition to prevent unauthorized users from firing your gun. No this is not out of a spy movie, this is very real. Bottom line, SGTi technology will reduce gun violence across the United States.
Pitch in today, and help Fund Safe Guns!
Safe Gun Technology, Inc. (SGTi), was founded in Columbus, Georgia by a group of individuals from all walks of life, who are dedicated to making guns safer and reducing gun violence through technology. In 2008, we successfully built a functioning prototype with SGTi technology. The original prototype was built by retrofitting SGTi technology on to a Remington 870 shotgun, but now, we need your help to develop a market ready prototype of SGTi technology on an assault style rifle.
SGTi Technology
SGTi is developing proprietary technology that is fully self-contained requiring no external devices. SGTi technology includes mechanisms which, if tampered with, would render the firearm useless. SGTi’s goal is to make this technology functional on all types of firearms ranging from an AR-15 to a 1911 handgun.
What We Need
We need to raise $50,000 to retrofit a gun and build a market ready prototype of SGTi technology on an assault style rifle. Any money raised will be solely dedicated to our engineering team who are experts in the field. The SGTi engineering team will then use the money on the research and development, and refinement of the market ready prototype.
SGTi backers will have the option of receiving a perk reward as a gesture of our sincere gratitude and appreciation. Perk rewards include recognition as a supporter on the SGTi website (you can remain anonymous if you want to), subscription to the SGTi e-newsletter, SGTi-branded bumper stickers, notepads & pens, t-shirt & polo shirts, as well as exclusive access to the latest SGTi product demos and advance notification of SGTi product launches.
Our Passion and Determination
Moved by the tragedy at Columbine 14 years ago, Kenneth Collins, a construction worker and resident of Phenix City, Alabama, was determined to follow through and turn his prior gun safety ideas into action. With some assistance, he developed a "smart" gun technology system for firearms. Ken filed his patent on April 22, 1999, just two days after the Columbine tragedy.
An avid gun owner, Ken has been trying to develop viable gun safety technology for the past 15 years. Along the way, he's brought a team of dedicated people from diverse backgrounds on board who all share his desire to improve gun safety. What started as one person in the late '90s has now become an unprecedented social enterprise intent on making a positive impact.
We believe that there are many other people across the country just like Ken. People who support and respect the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms but who also believe that this right comes with a responsibility. People who are sickened every time an innocent human being is killed as a result of a senseless gun tragedy.
These are the words we live by: "If we save the life of one child then it is a miracle to that child and to everyone whose life is touched by that child."
PLEASE PITCH IN TODAY TO HELP MAKE GUNS SAFER! WITH YOUR COLLECTIVE HELP, SGTi WILL BE ABLE TO EXPEDITE MARKET ENTRY OF OUR PROPRIETARY GUN SAFETY TECHNOLOGY.
If you support what we are doing but are unable to contribute at this time, you can still help us by spreading the word about our campaign. Don't forget to use the Indiegogo share tools.
