  • We plan to expand our growth outside our home site and into the city. Kathmandu is full of common areas. These areas are currently full of brick/stone or heavily polluted. Hariyo Chowk wants to clean and green them up and create sustainable hubs within the city.
  • Greens are growing in our bio-intensive garden at our home site. Bio-intensive farming is a technique which uses maximum yields in minimum space, all while improving the fertility of the soil. This method uses zero chemicals or pesticides while creating larger and healthier plants!
  • Seed Bombs are small balls of soil and water with a local, seasonal and organic seed placed inside. Seed Bombs are used to guerrilla garden effectively as you can throw them to start food growth in any public area with soil. We created our seed bombs and compiled them into small packages made from recycled burlap to then give to our dedicated volunteers.
  • Local kids having fun and getting messy during a workshop run at Hariyo Chowk.
  • Conceptual design image for a future monsoon roof to build over our mud brick kitchen area.
  • Planting some bamboo at our home site. Bamboo is a rapid growing and extremely versatile plant. It is and has been demonstrated within our site to be one of our favourite building materials.
