Harvey Knows A Killer have been marinating in a swamp of dreams, honing their craft with blood and sweat, in search of their defining sound since initially forming at Western Springs College six years ago. During this time, many enchanted people have grooved away with enthusiasm to their energetic live act at festivals and gigs throughout New Zealand.
They are a 5 piece featuring dual lead vocals by Dillon "The Rooster" Riesterer (who plays a raging organ) and Rewi McLay (who gets down and dirty on the slide guitar). The rhythm section is comprised of Joss "The Moss" Colling (bass) and Jermayne Clarke (drums). Rounding out the 5, on leading guitar is Window "The Wiz" Bradfield.
The Influences
The Harvey sound is funked up, rockin blues and soul. One might say they ROCK, while keeping a daaamn groovy edge to things. Their style evokes influences such as The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple, Jimi Hendrix, The Who, The Doors and The Rolling Stones.
In Their Own Words
For the last year, we've been groove grinding away in the funk dungeon, writing and recording our first album. We're super excited with the results so far and can't wait to drive it into peoples heads when it's complete! We're 90% of the way there and utterly grateful for the donated/mates rates help we've received to get it all the way to this point, but we're asking for a little help from our friends to assist in funding some remaining costs to get us to the finish line.

What You Get From Harvey
The way we work is - you do something us, we do something for you! We've got a selection of outrageous yet appropriate rewards for those who contribute, each relating to the size of the pledge. These vary between services, art or musical related items (some of these are instantly rewarded, others will be distributed when the album is complete). Some rewards are limited in numbers so get in quick! Feel free to chip in on the bigger perks with multiple friends! Even if we don’t reach our entire goal, we will still forge ahead to deliver the goods promised.
