Short Summary
The goal of this campaign is to allow for the post production and resources needed to finish this installment of the miniseries "Healing Cancer with Cannabis: Webisode 2.
What We Need & What You Get
After an ambitious $50k endeavor to raise funds for a feature length version of the miniseries that would become a film that could be broadcast all over has failed and only a little over a thousand was raised. This endeavor to raise enough to offset my cost of operation, as well as make some much needed repairs to my editing suite in order to finish this webisode. This testimonial style documentary series depicting Rick Simpson's struggle and battle against the very systems put in place to protect us can be finally completed. Any extra funding will go towards Webisode 3 at which point I wish to join them to become a feature length documentary film. It will take much more to bring this to theaters, however through our collective efforts anything is possible. The pubic deserves to know!
The Impact
As a filmmaker, director, editor, and cameraman having worked in the documentary industry for nearly 15 years, and most of all as a father, I felt the need to step away from my carrier in the broadcast industry to bring the truth out about an incredible story. This is the story of a cure for cancers and many other illness' that has affected and circled the globe. This story happened not long ago in the little Canadian town of Amherst, Nova Scotia. The man who rediscovered an ancient remedy in cannabis and fought tirelessly to tell the world along with his local supporters is Rick Simpson.
One would think the Canadian government would have honored Mr. Simpson as a hero, but instead he was persecuted for giving out the remedy he rediscovered, and that has been documented for thousands of years as such, to the public for free. He was later was forced to seek refuge in Europe when his home was raided for the fifth time while on a speaking tour there.
This is a story that belongs to all Canadians as well as to the world. How can anyone have the right to take away a proven medicine from a suffering patient.
Although it has been over a decade since Rick brought this information to the Canadian government, as well as just about every other organization and political party you can imagine, the information that Rick rediscovered is still mainly spred via the Internet through films and clips like these.
As decriminalization is happening all over very powerful forces fight to keep this herb illegal is always on going. People are suffering and being encarcerated for cannabis charges that have been deemed unlawfull over and over by Judges, Senate reports and even a Canadian Governor General.

Although I've been documenting the story of Rick Simpson and the Phoenixtears Oil, a name Rick coined for the oil, along with the other people who have fought and suffered to get their story out, I've put everything on hold in order to once and for all let Rick tell his personal story to the public. Along with the documentaries I'm creating on my own, another bigger endeavor was pitched to a major broadcaster last year. This much bigger film which was to include the science, testimonials and the history of this remedy. So far we have gotten a good response but no purchase of the idea was made.
I have spent an enormous amount of money, time, resources, and energy towards these projects and have been supported by the public with a little over $4000 dollars from the public and a small $1000 loan from Rick himself. I have greatly endebted myself into tens of thousands and have had to downsize my home to an apartment.
I will be glad to have made these sacrifices if the world will get behind the story that brought us all a cure for many illness' including cancer.

Also, a roughcut version of Webisode 2 is available as a perk. Take the time to watch the first installment and you'll undoubtedly understand the importance of this story and maybe you will be compelled to take action and join the many others who have contributed to the spred of this information. There are also short segments that will be in another film by Chris Harrigan entitled "Canada's New Oil Men". This is the story of the original people involved along with Rick. Many have lost their freedoms, and some have even died. The early release of the Daren segment, may well have been the factor that allowed Rick to come home after 2 years in exile. After the release of this film on April 20 2012, the clip that included Rick got enormous attention and the charges against him were dropped within days.
