Who We Are

We describe ecosexual love as the love that reaches beyond genders, numbers, orientations, ages, races, origins, species, and biological realms, to embrace all of life as a partner with equal rights.  As ecosexuals, "we aim to make the environmental movement more fun, sexy, and diverse."  We believe that love is the ecology of life and we honor the third planet Gaia as a lover, hostess, and mother.  We believe that "a world where it is safe to love is a world where it is safe to live."  

Ecosexual love is a renewable resource key to personal and global transformation.  We want to celebrate this love in a docu-film series organized around communities that practice forms of ecosexual love and the ecosystems that sustain them.

We intend to celebrate the love that humans receive from Earth's beautiful ecosystems, and to open up the discourse of marriage equality to entire human communities.  If you practice any form of love-out-of-the-box, this project is for you!

SerenaGaia is the project's inspiring force.  Also known as Serena Anderlini-D'Onofrio, SerenaGaia is a fellow, writer, and visionary.  She is a scholar activist and participant observer in communities that practice amorous inclusiveness, sexual fluidity, and ecosexual love.  She's the author of award-winning books, and blogs at Poly Planet GAIA.  A professor at the University of Puerto Rico, she's had a fully fledged career as an academic, public speaker, and community educator.  She enjoys her wisdom years in the Caribbean, and is in love with three Matrias:  Italy, California, and the Caribbean.  These lands have blessed her evolving life with ecosexual love.  As a fellow at UCHI in 2012-13, she fell in love with cinema and the inspiring work of fellow team member: Shaison P. Ouseph. 

Shaison P. Ouseph is the project's artistic director.  Based in Mumbay, India, Ouseph is a director, producer, and entrepreneur.   Also known as Shaison Antony, Ouseph is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker, editor, and cameraman, with credits ranging from director of photography to art direction.  His documentaries and independent films promote literacy and the empowerment of women.  They document child exploitation and environmental degradation.  Organizations that have appreciated Ouseph's work include the United Nations, the International Labour Organization, and the US Embassy. 

Goddess Judicci (Pronounced “Who-dÉÉ-chi”), is the Facilitator of Te Amo Playa Azul I Love You. Known as the “Poet of the Body,”™ she is an intuitive healer, ritual artist, published author, performer, percussionist, and visual artist who flourishes in a sensual, musical, spiritual universe where she supports the healing of community, the earth and individuals. Via a series of ecstatic experiences, the Goddess’ artwork with trees and self-portrait drawings inspired her to create a healing system grounded in loving-kindness and the exchange of power and trust in a safe and fun environment. Her holistic methodology fosters highly relaxed physical, mental, and spiritual states leading to self-actualization, connection to the earth and a Higher Power. Goddess Judicci resides in Park Slope Brooklyn New York with her 120-pound Deaf Great Dane puppy “Z” – a professional model, diplomat and advocate for deaf dogs. 

We want to document the bonds that exist between people and the ecosystems that sustain them emotionally as they evolve and manifest ecosexual love.  With Hearts on Fire: Together in Ecosexual Love, we plan a series of episodes based on stories and visions from SerenaGaia.  Some will be inspired by her memoir Eros.  All will celebrate the love humans receive from Earth's beautiful ecosystems.  Each episode is organized around an ecosystem that loves people and the communities that receive and honor that love.  

The Template

We now want to produce the first, template episode of this series.  We plan on the interlanguage title Te Amo Playa Azul I Love You.  Shooting on location at SerenaGaia's current base location Playa Azul is planned for January 25, 2014.  Playa Azul, or "blue beach," is an enchanted tropical beach on the Caribbean coast of Western Puerto Rico.  SerenaGaia fell in love at first sight when she arrived in 1997.  She now lives on the tip of the beach area, Punta Arenas.  SerenaGaia owes her safety, health, vitality, happiness, ease to Playa Azul.  The beach has turned into a joyful garden under her care.  This vibrant, healthy, loving, safe ecosystem is now a place where communities converge to heal and experience nature's love.  The template will celebrate Playa Azul's vast capacity for expanded love.  It will honor SerenaGaia's long-standing vision and commitment to the ecosystem.  Local groups and communities will gather on Playa Azul's point, Punta Arenas, to celebrate an Ecosexual Wedding to/on/with the location.  

Symbolism, Meaning, Future

There are limits to how many people a person can wed.  "Alas," you'll sigh if you love more inclusively.  But there are no limits to how many people can marry a beach!  The wedding to/on/with Playa Azul will celebrate this capacity for expanded love.  All sponsors and willing participants are invited to join us in marrying this enchanted, well-loved ecosystem.  Footage shot during the ceremony will focus on weddings between natural and human ecosystems: The way these care for each other and practice love across biological realms.  Participants will be invited to speak of why they love Playa Azul and what it means to them.  There will also be interviews on SerenaGaia's presence and effect on the ecosystem, including interviews with herself and other participating partners and spouses of the ecosystem.  The different strings of footage will be organized in parallel montage by the director. 

We are making this template as a way to launch the docu-series.  We have at least two subsequent locations in mind, including Southern California and Central Italy.  We believe that, as the template becomes available, more and more communities organized around similar ecosexual locations will want to participate.  We will add locations as the project evolves.  We envisage three or four episodes for the first season.  We will consider invitations from those willing to host an episode. Subsequent seasons may be funded by interested networks and will develop accordingly.

We designed the series around SerenaGaia's understanding of ecosexuality and its message because we believe it is globally significant.  Film is the best way to get it across.  "Love is the ecology of life," SerenaGaia claims.  She believes that "a world where it is safe to love is a world where it is safe to live."  Her work is transformative and visionary.  Contributors to this campaign will nurture the seed of this message and help us bring it across the planet.  Their generosity is deeply appreciated.

What We Need & What You Get

The Te Amo Playa Azul I Love You episode will function as a template for the series.  We plan on a 45 minute episode, all filmed on location during the director's 1-week visit to Playa Azul, and edited as a final product on DVD. 

We need production and post-production funds for this template episode.  In other words, we need funds for the actual on-location shooting of the footage, and funds for editing, music, mixing, special effects, animation, and whatever else is necessary to reach the quality we desire.

We present our realistic estimates here:

Production funds will cover airfare for the director ($ 1500) and other key participants ($ 1000), 3-5 night housing for long-distance participants ($ 1000), 1-day food for all participants ($ 500), permission and insurance ($ 700), local publicity ($ 300), for a total of $ 5000. 

Post-production costs are estimated at $ 156 per minute, for a total of $ 7020 for 45 minutes.  These estimates are based on the cost and quality of the promotional video we have posted here.  Please review it to assess the artistic quality of the videography!

Details about Te Amo Playa Azul I Love You

Shooting on the Playa Azul location is planned for Saturday, January 25th, 2014.  It will be an all-day event on the beach, with its natural temperature estimated at an idea 85 F for that season.  SerenaGaia, her entourage, local groups, facilitators, ceremony officiants, and beach attendees will volunteer their time.  There will be workshops for bonding with the sand, beach, waters, and each other.  Priestesses will officiate the wedding ritual.  Everyone will get to kiss the bride!

We will donate our time to work on the project.  Artistic director Shaison P. Ouseph has a fully-equipped film and videography laboratory.  He will donate use of his laboratory and expert technicians.  SerenaGaia's dedication to the project is completely volunteer.  We also expect participants to volunteer time and creativity.  We believe the documentary this will be great exposure for all involved.  We plan to produce an abundant amount of complimentary DVDs for the template episode. 

What Happens after Te Amo Playa Azul I Love You?

When the first episode is complete we will launch it through our extensive social media networks and will seek the attention of producers for subsequent episodes.  At that point we will probably launch another crowdfunding campaign to fund the necessary public relations work, including participation in festivals, premieres, institutions, and conventions where producers are found.  We expect good responses from those interested in transmedia productions and educational series in the areas of lovestyles, sexuality, environmental awareness, global health, and human ecology.
