Little Matthew was originally the pride and joy of his "mother" Geraldine. Her love for little boys in sailor suits produced this darling child and when she saw him, she had to have him for her very own.  Sadly, she succumbed to cancer.

With the loss of her affection, poor Matthew was placed into a box. Literally, a cardboard box. Neither of Geraldine's biological children were interested in the care of Baby Matthew and he became a truly forgotten child.  Really, for the last nineteen years, poor Matthew has been sitting in a dusty old cardboard box, carefully wrapped in bubble wrap, in an unheated attic waiting to see day light again.

If that doesn't work, we might try mud wrestling. But no matter what, in the end Baby Matthew will go to a new home and a real mom and dad that will love him forever as the perfect "chosen child".

One Less Unwanted Baby! Yes, this is a DONATION!

While we could put Baby Matthew on EBay with all the other unwanted dolls, it seemed so mean and cruel for him to be bought for mere pennies of his worth. Plus, how can one shop for a child like that! Surely, the nineteen year of suffering and waiting in box had meant that something better was in store for this poor baby!

Why do you ask.. well if this way a typical voluntary domestic infant adoption, then we could cry "adoption fees" to the tune of 30 to 50K and everyone would just accept it. After all, the birthmother counselors get paid about 35K a year and the director of the agency needs her six figure income, stick options and a 401K, and they need thousands of dollars to advertise for mothers, and pay all the adoption attorneys.  So this might possibly be the lowest cost adoption in the history of US adoption, but we're still keeping all the donations made from this adoption fundraiser!

This Adoption Fundraiser Is About Adoptee Rights and Natural Family Preservation!

• One Third of the donations will go directly to the Adoptee Rights Coalition in the name of Geraldine. The ARC supports the right to all Americans to have unconditional access to their own original birth certificates and educates legislators and the public about the need to restore adult adoptees access to their original birth certificates. Donations form the Baby Matthew Adoption Fundraiser will go directly to help support the 7th annual National Adoptee Rights Demonstration in August 2014.
  
• One third of the donations will go to help at risk mothers who are targeted by the adoption industry to relinquish though the work at WS Birthmom. This is a underground network of mostly other birthmothers who know that many mothers need support and a leg up in order to successfully parent their children. Donations from the Baby Matthew Adoption Fundraiser will go directly to purchase diapers and other necessities for mothers in need.
  
• And the final one third will stay at Musings of the Lame to continue the work of sharing, spreading and exposing adoption truths. There are hosting fees and traveling fees already beginning to be worrisome this year.
  

More about Baby Matthew! Now with an Amended Birth Certificate!

Authentic handcrafted Hand-painted original limited edition of “Matthew” Porcelain Baby Doll created by award winning doll maker Yolanda Bello as part of the Picture Perfect Babies Collection and Commissioned by the Ashton-Drake Galleries for the first series of porcelain baby dolls ever to bear the name of The Edwin M Knowles China Company. The edition was strictly limited through the year of issue and closed on Dec 31, 1987.

Like any good adoptee he can be awarded his legally falsified documents… err AMENDED Birth Certificate claiming that the new purchase of this lovely child now own and processes him.
