My name is Barbara and Kurt is one of my much loved cats. I used to foster cats for a local adoption group and Kurt was one of those not adopted. I'm so glad I got to keep him as he is a gentle giant. At his heaviest he weighed just over 20 lbs. He's now down to 14 lbs., but he's still the sweetest kitty.

Kurt was recently diagnosed with a hernia in his diaphragm that had his liver pressing on his heart and making it very hard for him to breathe.That got fixed and you can see his incision in the picture. The problem was that he was still having breathing problems. An xray showed he has a mass in his trachea (breathing tube) that is restricting 50% - 70% of his airflow. 

A biopsy is being done so we don't for sure know what it is. It's most likely malignant and that means he will need chemo and/or radiation therapy to shrink the tumor. If he doesn't get that he will die. His breathing muscles will tire out and he will just stop breathing. At only 8 years old, Kurt has a lot of good years ahead.

I'm asking for help as I have already spent nearly $10,000 for Kurt's treatment and surgery. My credit card is maxed out. I need help in paying for his upcoming treatments.
