In 2010 Brian spent 4 months of a 7 year sentence in prison before the American people demanded his release.
This is his story.
“Have you ever heard the phrase it’s dangerous to be right when the government is wrong? Former FreedomWatch guest Brian Aitken learned the hard way after a judge in New Jersey sentenced him to seven years in prison for exercising his 2nd amendment constitutional rights”

This book is a collection of autobiographical stories from my experiences fighting for what I believed in... even if it meant going to prison. This is a no holds barred personal expose that will put a face on the consequences of inane laws and overzealous prosecutors turning law-abiding citizens into criminals.
The book will be available in 6"x9" dust-jacketed hardcover. I've priced it out and printing, design, and editing will run around $20,000 for the 1,000 order minimum I need to get this in independent brick and mortar bookstores across the nation and take care of my Indiegogo backers.

I need $40,000 total to petition SCOTUS to hear my case, publish my book, fulfill all Indiegogo obligations, and to get custody of my son back by Christmas.
I'm offering copies of my book in electronic and hardcover versions, including some pretty unique signed options. I'm also offering up 10 of the 42 books that I read while I was in prison, stamped by Mid-State Correctional Facility, and I'm working on getting even more perks lined up now.
Until my case is resolved I can't vote or pass a background check. It's next to impossible to get a credit card or even sign a lease for an apartment. I can't leave the country and I can't see my son. Clearing my name is the first step towards getting my life back... and I can't do it without your help.
Until my case is heard, and a legal decision is made, tens of thousands of gun owners in New Jersey remain at risk of becoming thrown in prison simply for transporting something they legally own from one residence to another.
My story, this book, is all I can provide as a "thank you". I'm pouring my soul into it because you deserve every ounce of energy I have in exchange for your support.

Me with my son before New Jersey restricted my custody. I haven't been able to see him in four years. A friend sent me this recent picture of him but if they hadn't done that I wouldn't even know what he looks like. All of my dreams of being a father were taken away from me just because I owned guns. I've never even heard his voice.
A book proposal is completed with a content overview, chapter descriptions, marketing plan (heavy on the social media), and most importantly I have begun writing... which I've found to be incredibly therapeutic. Writing digs up emotions I've buried since the State took my son from me; since they took years of my life away and sentenced me to more years in prison than many child molesters and murderers.
