Story.

I'm Byron from El Salvador, and that young woman that you see below is my mom, Maria Esther, we recently discovered by a biopsy an uterine cancer in stage 3. This is a very advance stage of cancer with high probabilities of spread to other organs. We are from El Salvador, and as an average family of this country we run every day by economic problems and struggle for paying the rent and normal things like the daily bread and is difficult to save some money for a situation like this. This camping is for helping us to pay her treatments since she already have medical bills in debt, as you may know the cancer is very fast disease so we are running out of time before it becomes in something irreversible.

My mom raised me being a single mother, she assumed the role of a father in the house. Is the human beign with the most brave character that I ever know, she has been so strong even in the more difficult troubles, she has been the strongest in the whole family, that's why is so hard for me to see her crying and depressed, in so many years is the first time that I see her fear and is hard for me too stand in front of her and trying to calm her without my tears pouring out, because I know that isn't her natural state. The campaing is felixible and some of you know that cancer threatment took too many time even years, so $5k is a small amount if you think at the whole threatment, so the real goal is pass the $5k.

I've created some designs that you can see in the gallery in order to promote this campaign through the social networks. I want to capture the attention of the young people that aren’t aware of Cancer by making a contrast of concepts, sometimes we are pissed off by little things as a dropped ice cream, youtube restrictions, low battery on your phone but if you stop and think how many people have hard problems in the world like cancer you will think twice before getting anger. Is like a merge of funny simple things (like your cookie doesn’t fit on your glass of milk) with a real serious problem, is far more easy to capture your attention with a simple and cute icon of a funny thing than showing a photograph of a woman dying from cancer or the word in all caps: CANCER. If you like the concept you can get a limited poster as a perk for your donation.
