The Impact
SHIFT Theatre is an artistic collective of emerging artists who work collaboratively to create contemporary, relevant, and stimulating theatre. Currently we receive no government funding and rely solely on ticket sales and contributions from people like you! This year Nick, Kelsey and the Board of Directors is going full throttle to make this season (our biggest) be our most successful to-date. We need your help through donations to ease the financial costs of producing the shows.
The Shows
Closer by Patrick Marber, directed by Adam Janusz
November 8-17, 2012 @ The Cultch’s Vancity Culture Lab
"Patrick Marber's Closer is a sad, savvy, often funny play that casts a steely, unblinking gaze at the world of relationships and lets you come to your own conclusions...Closer does not merely hold your attention; it burrows into you." - John Simon, New York
Nate and Troy: The Next Big Things, with Troy Cherkowski and Nathan Kelly.
January 25, 26 and February 1, 2013 @ Carousel Theatre
“Nate and Troy: The Next Big Things” allow the audience to be invited into the often hilarious, and definitely truthful friendship of best friends Nathan Kelly and Troy Cherkowski. The boys share their life experiences, stories and observations with searing hot wit, and startling honesty. Based on its success at SHIFT’s 1-Act Festival in June 2012, Nate and Troy: The Next Big Things will be presented with in the 2012/2013 season.

More About Us
SHIFT was founded in 2008 to provide emerging theatre artists with opportunities to stage unconventional, risk-taking productions of short theatre. The company is producers of the celebrated 1-Act Festival, a daring festival of original works and new stagings taking place annually at Port Moody’s Inlet Theatre and successfully at The Cultch in June 2012.
Now in its fifth year of operation, the company’s scope has grown to include self-produced, full-length works, such as the upcoming production of Closer, which SHIFT will present at The Cultch in November of 2012.
