The uOttawa Quidditch team was founded in December 2010 by Tegan Bridge, Clare Hutchinson, and Dierdre Walters. Since then, it has grown into a campus-wide group fostering healthy living, sportsmanship, and competitive athletics. In 2011 we placed 3rd at the Canadian Cup and 39th at the World Cup. In 2012, we placed 5th at the Ives Pond Invitational and 2nd at the Canadian Cup. In 2013, we reached the unfinished semifinals of the Ives Pond Invitational, remained undefeated at the Snow Palooza, and hope to travel to the World Cup in Kissemmee, Florida. Team members have also participated in the Utah Snow Cup and the UK Summer Games to represent uOttawa and Canada on the international stage.
Because the World Cup is in Florida, it is going to take us money to get there. We are working hard to save and fundraise to pay to take our team to Florida to represent the University of Ottawa and Canada at an international competition, but we need your help!
What We Need & What You Get
This money will go towards helping us pay for travel to Florida. Your donations will help to cover airfare for the competitive team as well as accomodations and local transportation fees.
The goodness of your heart is lovely, but we ALSO have swag! We have a unique and personalized selection of perks to help thank you for your support and to help bring up the swag factor in your life. Whether it's a personalized cd mix, a snitch ornament, a TARDIS handbag, a poster for your wall, or the dulcet tones of the ladies of our executive team singing a song of your choice, we've got the swag you want. Some options have a limited availability, so make sure to get yours now!
Don't see anything you like? Suggest something to us! If we think the price, timeline, and request is fair, we'll do it!
The Impact
Lots of teams are travelling to the World Cup, and they all deserve your support. We believe you should help uOttawa Quidditch because we have proven ourselves to be dedicated to helping promote sportsmanship and school spirit both at the University of Ottawa and at quidditch tournaments worldwide. We have become known for our facepaint, our pre-game cheers and dances, our jerseys, and our Canadian Quidditch pride. By helping our team, you will ensure a Canadian presence at the World Cup and you will help a dedicated and passionate group of people to achieve our goal. We have put a lot of hard work into this sport, and it's paid off with our qualification for the World Cup: now all we need to do is get there.
