About Us
I'm a blogger, electronic musician, and YouTuber living in Plant City, Florida, with my wife (who is disabled) and our small "zoo" that consists of a guinea pig trio (that I call "The Three Caballeros") and a pair of crazed ferrets. I was diagnosed with Asperger Disorder and Arrested Development Disorder in 2005, and I often blog about my conditions and also put together YouTube vlogs and other media. All but one of the critters were adopted from rescues and they are very important to us.
The Situation
We've been given notice by our landlord that they have terminated our lease, and we have 60 days to find a new place. The one-bedroom apartment we're leaving is tiny (I got it when I was still single) and barely contains the things that we have both for ourselves and for the aforementioned furries. We're looking to rent a three-bedroom house closer to downtown where I can set up an office and studio to create more YouTube content, but we need help to make the potentially high deposit and make sure our animals can move with us. Unfortunately, none of the apartment complexes in our area will let us bring our animals with us into their communities.
What We Need & What You Get
We have plenty to cover the rent and the required pet deposit, but we need help to cover the initial ~$1,000 deposit and potentially double deposit if we can't pass credit checks (I had to go through bankruptcy in 2010 because I was laid off and then divorced; I am once again working on a full-time salary). I hope we can raise enough to cover the possibilty of having to double our deposit.
Should we meet our goal and be able to make the move, YouTube watchers will be treated to a tour of the new digs, and the names of those have helped us out will be included in that vlog.
Above and Beyond—Where will it go?
Everything raised through this campaign will go toward our moving costs (deposits, first month, getting utilities reconnected, movers). Any funds in excess of these costs will be donated to 4 Lil' Pigs 'n' Buns in St. Petersburg, Florida, which is a small animal rescue that we support and from which we've adopted all but one of our small animals.
Additionally, those who are able to help out with larger amounts will have a portion of their contribution set aside as a donation in their name to the small animal rescue.
