What is this movie?
“Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay!!”, a completed indie comedy, needs your help to spread our message of “Love Is Love”.
Help this award-winning film secure distribution in theaters nationwide!
“Oy Vey!” is a heartwarming and inspirational story following a Jewish mother’s journey of accepting that her precious son is not only gay, but also dating a Roman Catholic man. This is a story of acceptance every family can relate to with a very simple message: “Love Is Love!”
With an amazing and accomplished cast, including Golden Globe, Emmy and Tony Award nominee Lainie Kazan, Saul Rubinek, Carmen Electra, Vincent Pastore, Tony Award winner John Lloyd Young, and Emmy Award winner Jai Rodriguez. Additionally, a number of talented individuals were involved in the making of this film, including Emmy Award winning comedian and writer Bruce Vilanch; and Grammy Award winning composer Desmond Child (numerous hits for KISS, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Michael Bolton, Ricky Martin, including "Livin La Vida Loca), who especially for the movie created a song and recorded it with British legend LULU.
We had a successful world premiere at the Montreal International Film Festival, and the movie went on to receive 23 Film Festival awards (most of which were given to us by the AUDIENCE – as it is most people’s favorite popular, funny and entertaining movie)!
Through all of this success, however, we've never had a wide theatrical release of this movie...yet!
The long-awaited theatrical release!
This is where YOU come in! Since the successful festival run and theatrical test release in 2010/2011, circumstances beyond our control have restricted the movie from ever having a theatrical release. With your help we will be able to fund the marketing and advertising campaign and secure theaters throughout the US ...and maybe even the world!
We've already partnered with the Hollywood theatrical distribution and servicing company FREESTYLE RELEASING, who are committed to bring this movie to all of you! Of course, the more we can raise here above our goal, the more screens we can open! The more advertisements in Media & TV we can buy! The more people can hear the movie's message louder! And the more the movie is seen, the more we can share our message that love is love! Every dollar contributed not only brings the movie into theaters but also the message of equality, acceptance, understanding and unconditional love. Show the world that you support the equality of people finding and cherishing love and family values!
We get questions EVERY DAY through email, Facebook, Twitter, etc. asking when this movie will be coming to a nearby theater.

A Final Note from the Director
At a time when nations throughout the world are experiencing challenging and troubling times, I feel that people need to laugh; to feel inspired; and to realize that only through acceptance and tolerance can we move forward to creating a better world in which to live.
Born in Russia, raised in Israel and currently living in the USA, I feel that I have been able to combine multicultural elements and offer a fresh, unique perspective on an otherwise sensitive subject matter. To use the language of comedy to address a difficult and sensitive subject with empathy; creating light and funny characters who are nearly caricatures of themselves; having the humor emanate from the characters, even when a given situation may not demand humor.
Most of the movies on Indiegogo are just beginning their development. "Oy Vey! My Son Is Gay!!" is a completed movie, ready to be launched in movie theaters to reach a wider audience!
So take a break from your stressful life, and help us to spread the word and bring more fun and joy to people’s hearts, filling them with unconditional love for each other, and at the same time to be able to enjoy this hilarious family movie!
Your support is extremely appreciated. One of a kind rewards are waiting for you! Thank you in advance for your contribution!

Risks and challenges
We are planning the theatrical release for the movie around October or mid-November, but this time frame might have to change depending on various circumstances which could be challenging, such as competition from major studio releases, major industry events, and availability of theaters.
This movie has proven its track record through the festival circuit, theatrical test release in 2010/2011 and our partnership with FREESTYLE RELEASING (Hollywood theatrical distribution and servicing company), who committed to run the theatrical campaign based on the proceeds raised here, will minimize the risk for the backers and will increase the potential outcome of the campaign. Of course, the amount of screens across the country depends on the contributions we raise here and solely on the final raised amount! The bigger amount we have the bigger release the movie can have! More screens and more places to be opened!
It is the right timing to bring this movie into theaters. Equality is a main subject matter that our society is living now! Many states are moving to approve this historical change, bringing more modern romance to our society. The movie shows, in a humorous way, how equality is in all of us; much like the TV show "Modern Family." Barriers are going to be those with traditional values who yet do not accept the equality of love. Throughout the world, people are being persecuted everyday simply for their choice in who to love. We recognize that the media will write on both sides of this subject matter. In 20 years this will be simply a family movie. Today it is a movie that supports acceptance, understanding, unconditional love, equality and family.
