• Hi, I'm Sophia Lewis - CEO & Founder of Hip Hop Smithsonian. I have over 15 years professional experience in both investment banking and digital media. My career has included strategic advisory and project management for major corporations and retailers.
• As  Hip Hop recently celebrated it's 40th anniversary, I became intrigued about it's roots. I wanted to have the ability to follow the journey and evolution.
• After less than 2 months since initially creating Hip Hop Smithsonian, I have received AMAZING support, encouragement and praise from the hip hop community. Artists and fans alike are excited that something like this finally exists, and want it to succeed.

What We Need & What You Get

• To get started in a meaningful way, I need $50,000. I will use these funds for promotions (including, but not limited to online) and technology investment.
• Each contributor will receive recognition directly on the web site, and those who contribute a minimum of $1,000 will receive invitations to an exclusive 2014 launch party.
• If for some reason, I don’t reach my entire goal, I will still use the funds received to advance the cause via promotions.

• Hip Hop is universal, and it's fans span the globe. However, it's rich history is not easily accessible in a way that tells a complete story.
