We all know the charity model is broken, but there is no need to be despondent about the future of Africa! Through a collection of experiences ranging from charity to the UN itself, we have come to the following epiphany: the BEST way to encourage development on the ground and combat global challenges is to nurture and empower the next generation of leaders who are doing it!

Hub Accra's Mission: To promote entrepreneurship by engineering an environment for innovation in order to accelerate the African Startup Ecosystem.
Hub Accra's Vision: A globally integrated and dynamic entrepreneurial community that promotes high-impact development in West Africa in a responsible, sustainable, and equitable way.

The answer is simple: EDUCATE, INCUBATE & INVEST: A revolutionary approach to nurture the continent’s change-makers!

• EDUCATE: First we have to learn the basics! Through our co-founding institution, Open University of West Africa, Hub Accra serves as a base for motivated students to take a blended format certificate program in entrepreneurship - which includes courses from Stanford University. Open University of West Africa’s goal is to motivate our students to grow their ideas into companies, and join other young entrepreneurs working from Hub Accra’s coworking space and incubator program “Startup West Africa.”
• INCUBATE: Hub Accra offers our super outstanding entrepreneurs the collaborative workspace they NEED to succeed, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! Members have access to meeting rooms, a speaker series, and inspiring events. They have the chance to engage fellow entrepreneurs overcoming similar challenges and draw from each other’s experiences. Through Hub Accra’s in house incubation program Startup West Africa we offer our entrepreneurs the guidance they need to achieve in the areas of leadership, pitch training, business plans, opportunity to design and prototype and more! As our entrepreneurs grow, Hub Accra will be developing an accelerator to give them the tools and refinement to make their businesses investment ready.
  
• INVEST: Promising startups will have the opportunity to qualify for funding. Our award winning co-founding institution, SliceBiz, is a crowdfunding investment platform for high-growth startups in Africa.
  

VOILÀ! When Hub Accra’s entrepreneurs are armed with education, incubation and investment, we push them out into the world to make room for the next batch of visionary leaders! As their businesses grow, they CREATE EMPLOYMENT, OPPORTUNITIES, and potentially even ERADICATE NEVER BEFORE SOLVED ISSUES LIKE LACK OF EDUCATION & POVERTY!

So who are Hub Accra’s rising stars!? Dynamic, bright, hard working, socially-aware Ghanaians and others who don’t know the meaning of the word “can’t.” They come from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and education but all share two things: the drive to make an impact, and the belief they can do it!

Their companies are diverse in scope:  Agri-business, investment , bakery franchising, coffee, taxi services, VIP tours, e-marketing, consulting, design, website development, food products, fashion accessories and more!!!

We are doubling our space to keep up with growing demand and need to raise funds to furnish the space, provide up-to-date facilities, and cover operational costs while we make our model sustainable – because our young entrepreneurs deserve a shot!

WAIT THERE’S MORE! 

Hub Accra is sponsoring other creative and innovative projects such as having a maker-space within the Hub, design prototyping for product development, and an exciting new Green Market - first in Accra.

AND! Hub Accra is also a center point for the local creative community. We serve as a gallery to highlight the work of local artists who otherwise don’t have a venue to showcase their work, and our future plans include creating an outdoor artists’ studio within our facility.

THAT’S NOT ALL! Hub Accra will be a leader in sustainability and will be eco-friendly. Our final design includes solar panels, a water collection system, light shelving and tubing, furniture made from recycled products, an eco-garden on the roof, in addition to other dynamic practices.

WHO WOULD EVER BELIEVE IN THIS CRAZY PROJECT? Hub Accra has built global partnerships to help our members get international exposure, bring in the most innovative programs from abroad, and facilitate West Africans ability to do business internationally. Some of our current collaborations include: Startup Weekend, The Sandbox Network, The World Economic Forum's Global Shaper Community, The Kairos Society, Global Entrepreneurship Week, Semester at Sea, The Unreasonable Institute, Apps4Africa, Ghana Angel Investment Network, Dreamups, and Color Jar.
