The chances are if you're reading this you've seen the legendary master
work by Martin Scorsese, GoodFellas. And chances are, you've seen short pieces on A&E or CNBC about Henry Hill and the story behind the brilliant film. But,
did you know things like the real Tommy D (Joe Pesci) was very handsome and over
6 feet tall, while Henry (Ray Liotta) was shorter and more the wise cracking,
smart ass. Did you know John Gotti was alleged to have been the guy to whack
Tommy D? Did you know the guy who played 'Fat Andy' was a real hit man, one of
the 'Mob Cops'? Did you know there are questions about the veracity of the
'Spider'
card game scene? Did you know Henry's Hill time in Witness protection
was just as insane, dramatic, and filled with just as many, if not even
more, enthralling and mind blowing stories as his time as a gangster in
Paul Vario's Lucchese crew?
Much like JFA Films did with the other Scorsese mob epic, Casino, we shall
delve into the real people, places, and stories that served as the foundation
for the iconic film, and book Wiseguy, by Nicholas Pileggi. As with Back Home Years Ago: The Real Casino, http://jfafilms.com/films_therealcasino.html we
don't just seek to give you facts, nothing but the facts, but rather an
inside, impressionistic view of being in the 'life'. We seek to rip
away some of the veneer of the mob film, as The Real Casino
did. In fact, particularly for women who grew up in La Cosa Nostra,
there was little exciting or glamorous about being a mob wife or child.
We've attached a trailer to our doc about the real people who were the
basis for Scorsese's companion piece to GoodFellas, Casino, in order to give you a feel for what we're going for.
As
a young man, it just so happened my path crossed with those connected
not to just the real Chicago 'outfit' guys who inspired Casino, but family connections to GoodFellas
as well. Including, but not limited to, several family members who were
neighbors of Henry Hill when he lived in Rockville Centre, NY (where
Liotta's character moved to after getting out of prison and was
'pinched' near the end of the film.) In addition, a personal connection
to the kid from Commack, Long Island who was part of Henry's coke ring
that turned the Nassua County DEA onto Henry after he was 'pinched'.
"Bye, bye dickhead! See 'ya in Attica!" This personal journey into the
roots of one of the greatest gangster films ever made will lend context
and credibility as we meet many of the relatives and associates of those
who were the basis for this classic picture.
What We Need & What You Get
To
do this film complete justice we need to $117,500.00. What do we need
this money for? For many docs this is a modest budget. We need to travel
to NYC (obviously) but also Nebraska and Seattle, WA to track down
Henry's exploits in witness protection. In addition, we need funding for
acquiring stock footage, extra research, extensive HD interviews with
surviving relatives, law enforcement, journalists, and special guests
who were integral in the making of GoodFellas, both in front of and behind the camera. Not only will we exhaustively investigate GoodFellas, but analyze exactly what makes the Mob film so uniquely American, like Jazz and the Western.
We suggest you use PAYPAL so we can start the process sooner, and start with a sizzle reel to attract more investors.
What you get, aside from the satisfaction of being part of this filmmaking famiglia,
is a slew of cool rewards, perks, and incentives. Just look to the
perks to see what we have for you. For instance you can get both The Real Casino & The Real GoodFellas on DVD. So, what happens if we don't make our goal, that mean you don't get anything, nothing, uggatz? You won't wind up kissing Nat King Cole, but hey what's so bad about that? You'll get DVD's of The Real Casino and
if we reach at least 17,500.00 a digital copy of the sizzle reel. If we
reach 25,000.00 You can get a copy of the Short version of the film
we'll go out to festivals with. We'll make sure you don't away empty
handed!

Craig Vincent? All's he's done is work with Martin Scorsese, Robert DeNiro, and Joe Pesci on Casino.
