Our
Story!
Old Well Productions is a
NYC-based theatre collective founded by four UNC-Chapel Hill alumni: Sean
Casserly, Alex Daly, Matthew Jacques and Emily Turner Marsland. The group's
mission is to produce staged readings and smaller scale productions of lesser
known works in an intimate yet captivating fashion, while showcasing all of the
production's collaborators.
Our
first production is a staged reading of I
Love You Because, running January 18-21, 2014! What other show is more fitting to kick off the
production company than this delightful piece about twenty-somethings living in
Manhattan and falling in love?
Reading Dates & Times:
January 18 - 8pm
January 19 - 2pm
January 20 - 5 pm / 8 pm
January 21 - 5 pm / 8 pm
*The Reading will take place at Pearl Studios, 519 Eighth Avenue, Studio H*

** If a financial contribution isn't feasible for you, we
completely understand! We would be so appreciative if you would take a moment
to spread the word about I Love You Because via social media and word of mouth!
Where Your Money Will Go
We are quickly learning that producing theatre of any
capacity is quite the challenge! This is a small staged reading, running for
only four days, yet the expenses are exorbitant. We have to pay for the rights
to perform the show, as well as performance space, both of which were
significantly more expensive than we would have expected. Of course we
are too passionate about this show to let a little financial setback stop us from
sharing this work! We ask that you would look at the opportunity to donate as a
chance to reserve advanced tickets for our show! We look forward to seeing you
there!
Why We Chose I Love You Because
The four founding members of
Old Well Productions worked on I Love You Because together in 2010 at UNC, and
after reflecting on our first years in the city, we realized that this show
told "our story" better than any other production of which we had
been a part. We decided to produce the show in Manhattan as an opportunity to
work together again, include some additional UNC Alumni, and share with the
industry what we believe to be a truly delightful piece.
In New York in
January, people tend to hibernate, and stay inside. Our goal is to change that,
one audience member at a time! This cheerful romantic comedy will leave
audiences feeling giddy and excited to live in such a fun city.
