The idea

To integrate art, communication and technology into a tool that makes our messaging app icons better, using author’s artistic designs.

Iconssmart, the App is a quality alternative to the "ugliness"  and general low quality of the icons used in instant messaging. We believe that messages people send through their smartphones can be enriched with original and attractive icons and images made ​​by prestigious authors. The first icons packs, for example, have been created by Francesc Capdevila, aka “Max” and Pere Joan.

The project

We will offer

• A free app (with discreet advertisement) including several icon packages made ​​by prestigious authors (no advertisment will be placed in the user messages).

• To be able to select an icon, add text (if desired), and share it through any messaging app.

• The possibility to access to a premium ad-free version.

• New packages of icons from different illustrators, published periodically, at a very affordable price.

Beyond these features, we are working for authors, artists and illustrators to be able to show their work on a new space as open and popular as the social messaging is: a global and transcultural setting. Much of the advertising revenue generated by the app will revert to the authors themselves, in a higher percentage than they usually get in the publishing business. The artwork will be published using an open license that allows its free use in messaging.

In addition to this project, we will continue integrating art-media-mobile technology in new and exciting projects.

But we need your help

We need your help to start up, develop and maintain this app for sharing quality icons through any other messaging app installed on our smartphones.

The money raised will go to:

• The development of the app on different OS (Android and iOS at first).

• The design work of icon packs that we will include in the first free version of the app.

• Infrastructure, development and maintenance of the website where we will offer information about the app, give support, receive suggestions and converse with users.

• Establish the business and commercial infrastructure to provide and promote the app through the app stores.

• Continue working on the project as long as it gets enough number of users to be sustainable by itself.
