About me
My name is Mysh, visual storytelling is my trade and my passion. I make comics and films, both animated and live-action. "Imaginary Encounters" is my most personal and most ambitious project to-date, and in it all the things I love to do and to tell about come together.
About Haiku-Comics
Based on a traditional Japanese format of three-line poems, the Haiku-comics are short graphic and video pieces that use words and images to capture moments in life – of love and sexual desire, heartbreak and joy. Through the Haiku I tell stories that express my own feelings and views (that's why most of the Haiku are about men loving men). This project is hard to fit into existing formats. Because of this, "Imaginary Encounters" began its run at the place where boundaries tend to blur – the Internet. For two years the Haiku project ran online as a series of comics and video shorts, resulting in fifty-and-counting pieces. Now I want to take it to the next level.
The Book of Haiku-comics
Though the Haikus exist now in the digital form, they are all hand-drawn, and my dream is to enable the readers to experience them in the way closest to the originals. So my first goal is to produce, print and distribute a hardcover collection of "Imaginary Encounters" series – a book that will include the first 50 Haikus. The book itself will be an art object designed to honor the content.
The Original Art Plates
"Imaginary Encounters" is as much a fine art project as it is a series of comics. As part of the process of bringing it back to its paper form, I want to make original plates of selected Haikus, each limited to 25 or 50 prints in beautiful silk-screen printing technique.
The Series of Haiku-videos
Like the comics, Haiku-videos are black-and-white silent shorts, capturing moments when Life becomes Poetry. To this day, I've made only three Haiku-videos, but there are much more I want to make, creating a full-scale series

What do we need?
Our ultimate goal is to raise $60.000, which will enable us to make all parts of the project happen: the book, the art plates, and ultimately, bring Imaniary Encounters to life on the screen as a video series.
The first $20.000 will enable us to edit, design, print and ship the book, using the best quality materials,
$30.000 will make it possible to build the Imaginary Encounters' official website, and to create the original plates for selected Haikus, which can be ordered and bought through the website
And finally, reaching the $60.000 will enable the Haiku-videos series to begin. That means that during the next two years I will produce and direct various Haiku shorts, bringing the total number of episodes to 20. They will run on the Haiku project official website, and hopefully will find their way to film festivals and international distribution.
This all will result in a massive LGBT art project that defies boundaries of both gender and media. If you feel it's a good cause to support – here's your opportunity!
