We are Intrepid Magazine and Paradigm Symposiums, and we need your help to reach our exapnsion goals.
We are Scotty Roberts and Micah Hanks, and we publish Intrepid Mag, a digital magazine that we'd like to bring to print and other electronic media. You can view samples of our published digital issues below.

We also founded the Paradigm Symposium to bring the magazine to life in a conference format, our first conference being held in October 2012.
OUR PURPOSE is to present alternative viewpoints, ideas and news that don't get much press in the mainstream. And by "alternative," we expressly mean the topics that are backed with serious research, but do not get a foothold in the scientific or academics circles because they are deemed to not fit within the established mode of thinking and evidential criteria.
We are working to help bridge the gaps that exist between science and fringe thinking - and sometimes the createst obstacles are from within the established academic communities who require direct evidence BEFORE considering fringe ideas. We would like to close that gap as much as possible, helping promote ideas that may not lay within the circle of established acceptance.
With INTREPID MAGAZINE, we have made our focus the exploration of new approaches to thinking and research; these will not only present innovative content and ideas to a popular audience, but will help to bridge the gaps between established science, academia, and an open minded approach to the discovery of new possibilities.

WHAT WE INTEND TO DO WITH THE FUNDS that come in as a direct result of this campaign is detailed here...
There can be the misconception that because we do BIG, COOL things, that we don't need any sort of funding. That is the farthest thing from the truth. The things we do stretch us to our last pennies - and sometimes beyond. So take a look at what we are asking YOU to help us achieve...
Scotty and Micah have launched this crowd funding campaign to expand the efforts and overall reach of INTREPID MAGAZINE. As a digital subscriber-based periodical in its current form, we'd like to expand INTREPID into the areas of print distribution, along with radio and podcasting, mobile apps, and syndication through handheld devices that help broaden both our reach and accessibility, as well as the interactive features we can provide.
It is our intent to work together to produce a multi-media magazine in this way, focusing on subjects that are typically shunned by mainstream news sources. And while maintaining respect for the consensus body of scientific and historical knowledge, we also seek to explore more thoroughly potentials existing beyond accepted beliefs and popular opinions.
1) Expand the digital magazine to print-and-paper format. This is certainly not an INexpensive endeavor, but to garner attention with retail distributors, we must first establish that we are a physical magazine that is available to our subscribers, in order to be considered for store shelves. And that would require four issues of a printed magazine, distributing to subscribers and available as back issues.
2) Expand into the electronic market - Amazon and other online markets in both digital downloads for iPad, Nook, Kindle and other digital/electronic readers.
3) Marketing and Advertising is an essential part of capturoing attention. Catching "lightning in a bottle" and an exponential spread by word of mouth is great, but sometimes that firestorm needs a little more of a financial boost to garner attention in arenas and circles that might be interested in what you have to say and publish, but would otherwise not know you are even there.
4) Author Fund from which to draw resources for securing the best writers and contributors for the kind of audience to which Intrepid Magazine and Paradigm Symposium appeals.
5) Expanded Publishing efforts for fledgling writers to submit their books and works for publication under the Intrepid umbrella.
HOW YOU CAN BE INVOLVED is to consider contributing from $25 and up, in order to help us attain our goals. There is some pretty cool "swag" in the column to the left that you will get in return for helping us grow.
Times are tight and even if you can't contribute, you can help immensely by spreading the word, and directing people to this page.
