Free & Equal Elections Foundation is embarking on a University Bus Tour to wake up America! Please help us raise $25,000 to put the UWS Festival kickoff event on the map.
Free & Equal works to ensure free, open, and fair elections.
Who We Are
Founded in 2008 by electoral reform activist Christina Tobin, Free & Equal has been at the forefront of working
to enable the youth vote to become a powerful force in elections, local
and national.
It is the only National group that brings together the
full spectrum of political opinion. It teaches candidates how to
become effective in running for office, getting elected, and overcoming
ballot box qualifying hurdles. Its purpose is to elect candidates outside the two-party stranglehold.

Recent History
- Free & Equal hosted the 2012 Open Presidential Debates. Co-moderated by Christina Tobin and media legend Larry King. We had true debates, with real give and take from the candidates.
- All
six top Presidential candidates were invited. Those who participated
in the October debate represented the Libertarian, Green, Justice and
Constitution parties. A second debate was held on the eve of Election
Day in Washington, D.C.
-
In the time leading up to
the debates, Free & Equal trended Top 10 on Twitter. The
debates were broadcast worldwide on C-SPAN, MSNBC, CNN Radio, RT
America, Al Jazeera, as well as live on OraTV, YouTube, and the Free
& Equal website with an estimated viewing audience of 20 million! These debates provided a chance for millions of young people to become
educated and involved – and they loved it!

Free & Equal changed the national dialogue. #NowThatsADebate!
The Immediate Future
Free & Equal is continuing that momentum with the United We Stand University Bus Tour, kicking off at UCLA's Pauley Pavilion on May 10th, 2014, with headlining performers PLAYING FOR CHANGE, IMMORTAL TECHNIQUE, PUBLIC ENEMY, and founders of the WU-TANG CLAN.
Dr. Ron Paul stated that revolutionary changes occur when young people & music are involved. Ralph Nader said that true leaders make more leaders, not more followers.
- We will work to inspire principled young independents to run for office in 2014 in the Congressional, state, and local races. United We Stand Fest keynote speaker Marianne Williamson, a New York Times bestselling spiritual author turned Independent Congressional candidate (CA-33rd) stated that electing only 20 independent candidates to Congress for 2015 would be enough to form a strong caucus that stands for peace, freedom, the Constitution, and resisting corporate & foreign special interest money.

The Goal
We intend to ignite a powerful, positive, and peaceful solutions-based movement at college campuses through the seeds we plant at the 9 stops in Fall 2014 after UCLA.
Building relationships with universities across America will enable Free & Equal to host open Presidential, Congressional, Senate, and local debates in years to come.
Free & Equal Elections Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan grassroots organization, whose mission is to shift the power back to the individual voter though educating the public, which will result in more independent candidates being elected.
Your help can result in young leaders running for office. Together, we can do this.

What We Need & What You Get
- The $25,000 will go to offset venue costs (staff, staging, sound, venue, ticketing) so that we can focus much of our efforts on the festival itself. As our movement grows, we are attracting sponsors from conscientious corporations. David Bronner, CEO of Dr. Bronner's Magic Soaps, the #1 selling certified organic/non-GMO/FairTrade natural soap line, is a confirmed speaker.
- We want to attract companies like Bronner's. We won't solicit corporations that rely on the current system for special advantages. We want safe products that also have social missions. Safe products, non-GMO foods, and more.
- The $25,000 will cushion us from the costs of the venue itself so
that sponsors know their funds are used to make the event huge and not
for overhead.

The Impact
This is a movement that will not just change America, but the world.
- This positive social change movement will address domestic issues like civil liberties, surveillance, police militarization, the economy, central banking, corporatism, money in politics, pollution, GMOs, War on Drugs, electoral reform, and international issues like the Federal Reserve, wars/empire/war crimes, entangling alliances, globalization, and more.
- We must fix things here at home in order to fix America's impact on the world. As more Youth are elected, they’ll bring the troops home from wars
abroad, scale back big government, and respect civil liberties and
people’s privacy.
A New Dialogue, A True Dialogue
-
New ideas from
new leaders outside the current, tired, two-headed one party system.
- The youth hold the key to our future. We'll give them the tools that will enable them to work effectively for change. It all starts with elections. Our founders warned us against political parties, namely a two party system.
- Once we are able to get past oppressive ballot access barriers, we can elect people that will represent us, as true public servants, not masters or rulers. We will create a platform that will allow honest independent candidates to not only have powerful educational campaigns, but actually get elected and affect change.

Other Ways You Can Help
Some people just can’t contribute, but that doesn’t mean they can’t help:
- This campaign is short, making it an exhilarating challenge. A short window to be able to get all-access passes to hang out with Public Enemy, Wu-Tang Clan, and amazing intellectual leaders.
