I love sci-fi and was brought up on Star Trek, Six Million Dollar Man and Dr Who. But it was when I saw the original Star Wars, that I knew I wanted to make a movie that would move and inspire people in the same way Star Wars inspired me.

I've spent the last 11 years crafting the Kaleidoscope Man script into something that has everything I believe all sci-fi fans will love, and it has that mind-blowing "magic" element that we get in great movies...

And we're producing our movie in a way that hasn't been done before...

Financing Kaleidoscope Man through traditional funding routes was not working for me and I spent years chasing false leads. It was when I discovered the concept of crowd funding, and working with people who, like myself, love great sci-fi, that everything changed.

And after a lot of thought, it made sense to shoot this movie in phases. For phase 1 & 2 we raised over £12,000 and have already shot a large chunk of the movie - including some spectacular crowd scenes.

The money we raise will pay for the cast, crew, location costs, set and prop building and catering during the shoot. The scenes we plan to shoot in this phase are.

• Mandy working at the school, having the first vision
  
• Mandy evading the alien attack
• Mandy and Father Robert take refuge in the Cathedral
• Mandy says goodbye at the graveyard
  
• Tom's brother, Freddie fights off the alien attack
• Scenes with Billy McCoy and Young Harriet
• Close ups of people being blasted by aliens
• Close ups of people teleported into alien pods
• Building of the alien pods (in preparation for phase 4)

After the death of his baby daughter, THOMAS DUNN is a man who's confidence is shattered. But all is not lost; he wakes to discover that MANDY, his loving wife is finally pregnant again. At last they have a chance to move away from the tragedy of the past.

But on his way to his job as a doctor at a care centre for people with mental health issues, Tom has a horrific vision; fire, destruction and the end of the Earth.

Tom is baffled, why them? Fear and paranoia sets in as people across the world discuss the visions that only some of them have experienced.

Then, like an omen of doom, a new star appears in the heavens. As telescopes point skywards, the people of Earth finally learn that they are not alone in the universe. The star is a gigantic spaceship.

Tom, Floyd, Harriet and Samantha are forced into pods and then put into each others deepest thoughts and fantasies.

The mother-ship launches a massive assault on the Earth, sending out millions of harvester craft to collect up the inhabitants and put them in pods within the belly of the mother-ship.

Tom discovers that he must look deep within himself to find not just his faith, but the wisdom and strength to save the human race from the horrors that threaten them. And somehow, he must do this with the help of his three patients.

But first, he must save Mandy and their unborn child, as together they hold the future of the human race. The battle lines are drawn and the final stance for Earth is about to begin...
