We are seeking funds for a L.A. Sneak Peak of
“HOUSE AT THE END OF THE DRIVE” on August 7, 2013.

The Anniversary of the Manson Murders August 9th.

Ghost stories…  We’ve heard them for decades and they’re a dime a dozen in Hollywood where every mansion and storefront has a link to a restless spirit.   But can a thirty-six year old murder haunt four people enough to rip open a doorway to the past and catapult them back in time to a horrible night of ritual slaughter?  It can if they live two doors down from the House at the End of the Drive.

In part based on the actual experiences of its producer who lives near the site of the original Sharon Tate murder house of 1969, House at the End of the Drive is a terrifying horror thriller about a group of people who live near a famous murder site and via a time vortex, are then transported back to the night of the original killings.  The twist: they materialize as the soon-to-be victims of the massacre.

Directed by former Clint Eastwood cinematographer David Worth (Kickboxer), from a screenplay by David Oman & Jim Vines (The Perfect Tenant) and executive produced by Paul Mason (The Amityville Horror), House at the End of the Drive marks the producing debut of David Oman and stars James Oliver (Our Fathers), Angela Jones (Pulp Fiction), Jonathan Mangum (THe Bucket List, Raising Helen) and Alison Raimondi (Club Dread) with a special guest appearance by Lance Henriksen (Aliens).

David Oman, an ex-private investigator and entrepreneur, decided to finance the film himself after experiencing the kind of actual phenomena in his home that Hollywood horror movies thrive on.  It began with a ghost sighting in this own bedroom where a spirit who resembled one of the victims of the Tate massacre hovered near his bed, pointing to the driveway down the road.  Oman then spoke to neighbors and construction laborers and realized that he wasn’t the only one touched by the macabre.  In the film Lance Henriksen retells the story of one of my laborers whose experience here was so terrifying that he did not return for 6 weeks. (Below is an actual 35mm 800 speed film photograph captured here at my home on the 35 anniversary of the Tate murders on August 9th 2004.)Ghost caught on 35mm film at Oman house

Keeping an open mind to something that could have been perceived of as ludicrous, the producer invited psychics and paranormal specialists to do a preliminary investigation and video footage and still photographs were taken.  The still photos were stunning.  There was a presence in the house, revealed through unusual orbs, shadowy images and streaking light patterns that were later examined by Dr. Barry Taff, one of the world’s leading para-psychologists and someone who has investigated over 4000 reported hauntings.  Taff confirmed that the images were real and that the house merited a full scientific investigation that will begin soon.  (It was Taff who originally investigated the Culver City, Calfornia haunting incident that became The Entity movie in 1981). The Oman house has been on several Paranormal reality TV shows, such as Ghost Hunters, Dead Famous Live, My Ghost Story and soon to be on a 1 hour show on SyFy this July. Other shows such as Extra, TMZ and Larry King Live have stopped by to check out the unexplained occurances at the Oman house.

House at the End of the Drive Film Synopsis

During a dinner party at his home with friends, Robert, Felicia and Jennifer, David discovers more about the neighborhood’s bloody history, and fact and fiction intertwine as the friends talk ghosts and spirits from beyond, and David recounts his odd experiences in the house. The night prompts the friends to take steps that will alter their lives forever.

When they decide to sneak in and explore the decrepit “House at the End of the Drive”, supernatural forces from the past transport them through time – back to a night of brutality and murderous bloodshed. In a cruel twist of fate, David, Robert, Felicia and Jennifer materialize as the soon to be victims of a massacre they had been discussing earlier over a quiet and casual dinner. Is the knowledge of the future enough to shield them from the horrors of the “Helter-Skelter” mayhem from the past? Can careful plotting overpower the supernatural invasion by a most infamous family of mass murders? Surely yesterday is finally over … but only time will tell, as the hapless visitors to the “house at the end of the drive” are swept into a hell storm of dark forces and fury beyond belief.

The film is inspired by the true events of the Sharon Tate slayings – one of the most heinous crimes of the 20th Century that shocked the world. Many of the events that take place in “HOUSE AT THE END OF THE DRIVE” are based on actual events that had taken place in the OMAN house where principal photography was shot. Like “THE EXORCIST” and “THE ENTITY” before it, the film is anchored in documented evidence of the paranormal.

Burning Questions - FAQ

There are few films about the paranormal that are based in fact.  The Exorcist (1973), The Amityville Horror *1979) and The Entity (1981) come to mind, and now a forth film, House at the End of the Drive could qualify.

Taking place in the legendary Benedict Canyon, where Charlie Manson’s hippie chicks sliced and diced Sharon Tate’s helpless houseguests and Mrs. Polanski herself, where Paul Bern, Jean Harlow’s hubby and TV’s Superman George Reeves purportedly took their own lives, House at the End of the Drive is first time producer David Oman’s personal odyssey of being a homeowner in the haunted Hollywood Hills.

The premise of the film is a young man buys a house four doors away from the infamous Dewitt home.  Via a time vortex, the young man and his friends are transported back to the night of that fatful summer eve into the soon-to-be-victims of that diabolical crime.

Oman invited psychics and paranormal investigators to do an investigation in the house in the middle of July 2005, with surprising results.  World renowned Parapsychologist Barry Taff, who conducted the investigation, recently commented on his findings.

“This house and property is unique in many respects.  Fundamentally, it is demonstrating or manifesting extraordinarily high magnetic flux.  For example, if you take these instruments onto your average street, you will get somewhere between half a milligauss and one or two milligauss.  As is common in this research, we went into this expecting nothing to occur of any significance.

The entire house from top to bottom seems to be saturated with relatively high strength magnetic fields.  One of our instruments, called a natural tri-field meter, which should normally pick up between half and one or two milligauss, was demonstrating throughout the entire house between twenty and forty milligauss, which I have NEVER seen over such a broad area.

Another device, which is far more sensitive, is called a geomagnetometer, which measures the earth’s magnetic field.  What we expected to see was between 300 milligauss and 500 milligauss, which is normal anywhere.  What we found throughout the house in several locations, but specifically on the stairwell, was between 680 milligauss and over 900 milligauss.  The bottom of the stairwell measured even higher numbers, closer to a full gauss, which is approximately double the earth’s magnetic field strength.

More strikingly than that, as we meandered about the house taking readings with the geomagnetometer, we finally made our way back to the front door.  Where the door actually opened, the readings dropped to zero, then reversed polarity, and went up almost another 130 points in the opposite polarity.  This is literally unprecedented - I have never seen anything like this in 36 years of work.

Even more striking, the entire street in front of the home, which again we expected to read less than a milligauss, read between 15 and 40.  All of this is indicative of perhaps a high concentration of magnetite, or lodestone, permeating the ground beneath that area.  It would be intriguing to see how far this field extends, how far in every direction - down the hill, around the hill.  These readings are only seen to my knowledge in very unusual areas - what we call geomagnetic anomalies.  It was striking.

What became apparent early on, was that the house, the property, the area, seems to be a giant magnetic dipole, or giant magnetic battery, which certainly, based on what we know about paranormal activity, produces a highly conducive environment for such things to occur.  This type of field seems to make the phenomena more apt to occur, whatever it may be.  We don’t think we’re measuring the phenomena itself, we are measuring the earth’s field, the geophysical field.  This environment with the right people in it could trigger any type of event from practical or typical psychokinetic things or people, to spontaneous combustion of matter, whatever.  Many, many years ago we didn’t have access to this level of instrumentation.  Now we do, so it’s a great opportunity to be in this situation.

I talked with some associates around the country.  They’ve only heard of readings this high in maybe three other locations in the country that they are aware of.

An interesting thing happened to me personally when I was calibrating and checking my equipment.  I found I had a bad battery, and marked it with an X in my customary fashion, and placed it in the trash can.  After the investigation, when I was packing up, I found the battery with the X on it, back in one of my equipment cases.  We also had incidences of equipment failure.”

Producer Oman has had a long history with the paranormal.  In fact, he believes that spirits are drawn to him.  This could be the case, which will make House at the End of the Road a compelling Blair Witch type of flick, without the hoax and hokum.  Oman has put together a fine cast and crew to make what could be a breakout movie, directed by former Clint Eastwood cinematographer David Worth (Kickboxer) from a screenplay by Jim Vines (The Perfect Tenant), Executive Produced by Paul Mason (The Amityville Horror) and stars James Oliver (Our Fathers), Angela Jones (Pulp Fiction), Jonathan Mangum (The Bucket List, Raising Helen) and Alison Raimondi (Club Dread) with a special guest appearance by Lance Henriksen (Aliens, Supernova).

THANK YOU!!!

I also want to say a special Thanks to those who have been there for me who participated and helped me out over the past 7 years of this project. I have met so many wonderful people who have supported me emotionally and pesonally to get House of the End of the Drive finished.  Along the way I have lost some very important people who have been there for my life, my Dod Sebastian who plays himself in the movie, both my parents have passed away and my dear friends David Chow, Wendy Shayne Kazel and Tommy Dykeman who are no longer here but are here in spirit, I would just like to acknowledge there support and freinedship and how much they all still mean to me. Of course I Thank all of you who are willing to contribute to my effort to see this movie to the big screen. Let us not forget those who died that night in August at the hands of those who shall go nameless and remember they were loved and cherished by their families and friends whose tragedy changed us all, for they are the people who this movie was inspired by.

(Below is my beloved Sebastian who made is debut in my movie, was told that he was one helluva actor too.)
