The Lakay Se Lakay project seeks to be a multimedia hub for
emerging cutting-edge Haitian diasporic (of Haitian descent living in Haiti
& abroad) innovators. Through our website, documentaries, conferences,
workshops, and events our vision is to create global cultural exchange;
educational opportunities for Haitian diaspora adults and youth; and highlight
Haitian artists & entrepreneurs.
I am a Haitian Dj/Producer/Brand Marketing Director/Event Planner. This project is dear to my heart! I had several conversations
with various non-profits, music institutions, and teaching artists who are
excited to collaborate on this project such as Haiti Cultural Exchange, "No Passport" Haiti electronic music event,
and more!
In Dec 2013 I went to Haiti and started building
connections for the project as well. This project will be the first of its kind in NYC!

BIO:
Dj Sabine's work focuses on the exposure and pleasures of African Diasporic music. Brooklyn Mecca and Oyasound are a few of her creative projects. Dj Sabine's mainstay and cultivation has been the monthly event Brooklyn Mecca which has been coined the home of "Grassroots Dance Culture". Most recently, Sabine has joined the Ocha Records label as their new Brand Marketing Director and Dj/Producer. Her Oyasound Ep is currently in the works. Dj Sabine spins Global Soul: House, Afrotech, Afrobeat, Haitian Roots and other diasporic tunes. Main influences are her spirit guides, ancestors, and warrior women. Her ear for music soothes the innate part of herself and others that honors the sounds of drums, the power of words, and the healing affect of conjuring up pure positive feeling and emotion. She has had the great opportunity to spin nationally in the US in NYC, Atlanta, St. Louis, Memphis, Chicago, Omaha, Boston, Miami, LA/Oakland, New Jersey, Washington DC, Dallas, New Orleans, Denver and internationally in Montreal, Toronto, Dakar, Haiti, & Cancun.
