LANCE AND THE FIRE:
Michael M. Barndt, (a.k.a. LANCE CROW) has been a fixture in the Philly indie and punk rock scene for over 20 years. He's played drums in SO MANY BANDS: the legendary punk band KRHISSY, indie rock powerhouses LATE NIGHT TELEVISION and SONNY SIXKILLER, the alternative pop act SUPPORT GROUP and, most recently, noisy punk rockers HOWLING FANTODS (which is the band I am in with Lance). Honestly, you were probably in a band with him for a week back in 1998!
On February 22nd, 2014 a fire broke out at the rehearsal space where Lance's drums were. (The same fire that burned up JJL's space, in fact.) The kit, a beautiful 60s era Rogers set, was utterly destroyed, as you can see in the pics up top. This kit was his only one and he'd had it forever. It was shiny, blue and sounded like thunder. It was Lance's musical voice. It was irreplaceable. But so what: LET'S HELP LANCE REPLACE IT!!!

WHAT WE NEED:
The way we figure it, to get Lance a kit comparable to the one that burned up will cost about $3000. That's a pretty big chunk of cash for Lance to shell out, and any funds you can contribute would be a HUGE help. Lance isn't in rock music for money or fame. He's not even in it for drink tickets at shows. He's been making music because making music is fundamental to who he is. Lance is a Philly rock music lifer and he needs your help to keep going.
The first fifty folks to to donate $25 or more will get a very special Howling Fantods "Burned up Drum Set" T-Shirt. I wish we have more merchandise to offer! The Fantods are a decidedly non-commercial rock outfit!!! But there are a few other goofy (non-material) perks too! Check them out.

Any money we raise will go straight to Lance for his new kit and associated rock music expenses (like fire insurance!). If we get more than the 3K, then Lance will just have to get that double bass pedal and gong he's been pining for for years!
More seriously: Lance needs your help. He's a good friend, an awesome musician and all around great member of the Philly rock scene. If you've ever rocked out with Lance in a dodgy semi-derelict warehouse or seen one of his bands play a show in a dingy Philly rock club or had him paint your living room a lovely shade of puce or cheered him on as he hit a line drive in a softball game or even just had a beer with him at the POPE, give a little! Or a lot! Buy him a drum set already! ROCK MUSIC IS FOREVER!
