Short Summary

Meredith and Hayley are struggling to survive in this new dangerous world. Since the invasion began, they have been living within a self-barricaded cargo van continually traveling for the last six months. After weeks of non-stop driving, the two take shelter in a cluttered junkyard where they can easily hide and rest. After a few days of peace, their tranquility is suddenly interrupted when a fleeing man acciedently discovers their location and begs for their help. Meredith and Haley have to make the choice to hit the road and leave the helpless man to his fate or take him in and risk revealing themselves to the Keepers and putting their own lives in jeapordy once again...

The Keepers

The monsters of "Last Round" are called Keepers. Six months ago these creatures invaded the planet and are slowly eliminating human life. Each Keeper's job is to collect bodies, so when crossing paths with a Keeper, bare in mind he won't leave without a body.

To make this film truly suspenseful and scary, we need an excellent special effects team to make our Keeper look real and authentic. SpatCave Studios is a special effects group that has done wonders on our previous projects. Below you can see the decaying faces of the zombies they created for Blake's most recent shoot, "Black Days". 

Meet the Crew!

Writer/Director: Blake Brewer

Blake Brewer is an emerging Tennessee filmmaker currently enrolled at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He was exposed to film early in life after enrolling in his high school's Fine Arts program. Shortly after graduating he enlisted in the United States Air Force where he served for the next four years. Soon after his separation from the military he picked up where he left off and directed his first award winning film, “Zlodej,” a short film shot entirely in Prague with a complete Czech cast. His most recent work includes, “Dark Shield” a tension filled cop thriller, “Bob and Me” an emotional heartfelt drama and “Black Days” a terrifying, post-apocalyptic zombie horror. His myriad of projects proves that he conquers an array of genres as a writer, director and producer.

Writer/Producer: Hannah Stoddard

Hannah Stoddard was born and raised in the beautiful desert of Henderson, Nevada. As a recent graduate from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts, she focused her efforts on directing, editing & art direction. Over the last four years, she has directed her own narrative shorts and documentaries while working as a production designer for fellow student sets. This year, she finished filming her thesis film, “Leftovers” to be completed in May 2013. She is currently working on her next script “Olivia”, a feature to be shot in the fall. She is excited to be one of the few women striving to be a writer/director in an industry dominated by men. She wholeheartedly believes in collaboration and strives to live her career by a quote from Henry Ford, “coming together is a beginning, staying together is progress and working together is success.”

Director of Photography: Joel Kingsbury

Hailing from London, England, Joel has been involved with filmmaking all his life. Joel's passion for images and cameras started when he was given a video camera at age 8 and shot a documentary about his school in London. Since then, his passion for cameras and lighting has blossomed. Joel has worked as a director of photography for dozens of short films, music videos, TV shows and documentaries. He currently works as a camera technician for NYU's camera classes and interns at Panavision NY. Before attending NYU's film school, Joel worked as a production manager for several TV commercials broadcast across the UK and Europe.
