Why Lesbians Who Tech?
Lesbians Who Tech is a community of queer women in or around tech (and the people who love them). Click here to learn more: Lesbianswhotech.org
We all know that familiar feeling of meeting someone in a work setting, knowing she’s a lesbian, and trying to work it into a conversation and make that connection. We’re about making that happen: connecting lesbians and building a network of colleagues, associates and friends in the industry. Lesbians are women first, and right now women are some of the most gifted folks in technology, yet there are far fewer of us than there should be (women account for 1 in 15 people in STEM fields). Because there aren’t enough women, women are rarely quoted as experts by the mainstream media and blogs, on panels, etc. And add the element of being lesbian, it’s equally important for us to represent women, and out women, for our communities.
We are in awe of each of these five social good organizations and how they’re using technology to change the world for women, the LGBT community & people of color. For that, we, Lesbians Who Tech, want to support each of them!
AllOut is mobilizing millions of people to build a world where no person will have to sacrifice their family or freedom, safety or dignity, because of who they are or who they love. https://www.allout.org/en

We need your support
In honor of International Women's Day and the Lesbians Who Tech Summit, we're enthusiastically supporting these 5 amazing social good organizations. And there's more - Megan Smith has agreed to personally match our goal up to $25,000!!! She did this because Kate Kendall pointed out that we need more people in Tech to support our nonprofits. So in that spirit, she is challenging all of us to support these folks this year, and to also keep supporting the ones that match each of our interests in a recurring way. Let's all dedicate to keep doing 'anything' to support our nonprofits next year and in future years. Thanks to you, we know this campaign will make history!
The Impact
Each of these organizations are a unique value added to the LGBTQI community in their own right and we're proud to have them apart of the Women Who Tech family. They are true trailblazers in tech, women empowerment, and our community as a whole. Support them today!
