Hi, I’m Casey and my family's farm, Superstition Farm, in Mesa AZ is working to complete our community micro-creamery.
We've been thinking about our farm and rather than getting bigger, we want to get better and we are doing that by building a creamery.
We want to make small-batch dairy foods with our own milk in our own creamery and get ready for this...we will expand our offering to include yogurts and cheeses like white English cheddar.
Our work is teaching kids and families about where their food comes from and making good food. But, you don't have to take our word for it:
New Times: Best Dairy Farm 2012
New Times: Best Indoor Farmer's Market
New Times: Best Chocolate Milkshake (Udder Delights)
The Arizona Republic: Top 20 restaurants to find food using hand-made ingredients (Udder Delights)
Edible Phoenix Magazine: Food Artisan of the Year 2011 (Udder Delights)
This creamery will allow us to make these cheeses and yogurts and be able to offer them to you, the local farmer's markets and local retailers.
This will be your kitchen and we will make the dairy foods that you crave.
We will create a viewing window into the kitchen so that the folks who tour the farm can see what goes into making butter, creamy cheeses and yogurts.
Building a community kitchen means that we will open this kitchen to other small businesses to use to make their foods, too, like packaged citrus juice and goat’s milk cheese and foods.
We also plan to have a milking and demonstration parlor so that families and schools can milk a cow, take that milk into the creamery to experience the process of how cheeses, butter and yogurt is made.
The stellar restaurants and chefs who source from us like Pizzeria Bianco/Pane Bianco/Italian Restaurant, Aaron May's restaurants, and The House Brasserie will have and opportunity serve these cheeses on their menu and collaborate with us creatively to highlight all of the outstanding foods being made in Arizona and commission special varieties of cheeses to be made that they wouldn't otherwise find locally.
We've already started building the kichen and have sourced several items we need, but we need more.
Here's what we need to complete the creamery:
- A Vat Light Pasteurizer
- The closed packaging system
- Packaging
- Marketing
- and all the other pieces to put it all together.
Here are the perks (they're also listed to the right --->):
