We’re a group of young professionals living in Kansai with one common goal; To support and help the children from Fukushima, a prefecture devastated by the nuclear plant explosion in 2011.
WHO WE ARE
The Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant incident has been cited by many as the worse nuclear disaster since Chernobyl.
3 years on, people in Fukushima still live with the concern of not knowing the extent of the damage.
After hearing that children in the area could only play outside for 1hour due to the risk of radiation, we wanted to provide the children with some normality and also show them that there are not in this alone.
Last year, with the help of many generous souls from around the world, we successfully invited 12 children from Fukushima for a 4day camp in the mountains of Osaka. We created a positive, stress free environment where the children could play freely and just be children again.

OUR VISION
Our goal is to build relationships, provide continuous support and help these kids become courageous souls who will one day give back and help other people in need.
We want to spread the message of ‘Pay it forward’.
Pay it forward. Just like the movie. Minus Haley Osborn and ……Kevin Spacey.
We believe that “Soft recovery” is very important in rebuilding a community.Providing emotional and cultural support. When we set up this project, we always said this won’t be a one off event but we’ll continue supporting the community.
We also want to encourage other people (just like us) to start up their own projects and groups to help people. You don’t need to be involved in a big NPO or be a world leader to make a difference in the world.
We started up this project with zero charity experience, we all come from different backgrounds and let’s just say we’re not the typical role model material. Seeing what we achieved last year and seeing the children light up gives us the motivation and courage to keep on going.
Not just going but keep on going stronger and expand our support.
THIS YEAR
This year we (The TA Project) are going to Fukushima.
Our 3day visit will take place in August 23rd-25th. (I know that's really soon!)
We want to build a relationship with the Fukushima community, spread our message, help the children and learn how the disaster is still affecting the area and community.
But what’s summer without a camp? That’s why we are taking the children to a nearby mountain in the Tohoku area and setting up camp there.
HOW YOU WILL BE HELPING (a.k.a why we need your help)
-- Providing a camp site for the children
- Providing material and resources for activities.
-Transport for the TAproject members from Osaka to Fukushima….and back (We'ra talking nothing fancy here. We're renting a mini van and driving.)
-Transport for taking the children to the camp site.
- Food. Lots and lots of food (one of the biggest lessons we learnt from the camp last year is that, kids love to eat. A lot.
- Material and resources for activities
THE BIGGER PICTURE
-Help the children of Fukushima
-Help support and build a relationship with the people of Fukushima
-Help us rebuild the future of Japan
-Gives you a reason to go to bed smiling, knowing you made a lot of people happy today;)

So what’s up with the peach?
Korimachi in Fukushima is very famous for it’s juicy and delicious peaches. We were lucky to try some last year and we can vouch that they are indeed, juicy and delicious. We thought what a better way to represent and support the city by incorporating the peach into our design.
