What's All This?
Life is Pain is a line of T-shirts celebrating the fact that life isn't always easy or fair, but that's no reason you can't laugh in life's face and give it your best shot. Even when life is delivering lemons with a high-speed potato gun.
Life is Pain acknowledges those rough patches and encourages you to keep at it. When things go awry, some really great stories are born!
About the Shirts
The main goal of this project is to make some funny shirts with an encouraging message of taking life less seriously. Every supporter will get first pick at the print run, some fun bonuses, and the extra shirts that get printed will make a debut in artist alley at this year's Denver Comic Con.
These tees will be printed at a local shop right in our little home town, run by awesome folks, each of whom has over 18 years in the screen printing biz. Needless to say, they know that they're doing. With their guidance, we picked out a soft-style shirt that feels like you've already worn it. The color(as you'll see below) is a dark heather that compliments the white artwork.
Where the Funds Will Go
All of the funds(minus the processing fees) will go toward printing and shipping everything to supporters in the United States.
*If you are pledging from outside the United States, extra shipping costs will be requested at the end of the campaign.
The Designs
This is what you're really here for, the shirt designs! Check out the reward levels on the right and remember that you can mix and match any of the designs if you back a level that includes multiple tees/goodies. A survey will be sent to you if you pledge at any of the multiple-item levels. As mentioned in the video, every shirt that is rewarded to you amazing backers allows us to print your shirt and an extra one for us that can be taken and sold at Denver Comic Con.

Handmade Scarf
I wanted to offer something extra unique, handmade, and functional at the higher perk level: a handmade scarf. The prototype has been knitted and I'm working with my wife to apply the Eyepoke design to it. If that image interests you, great! If you are interested in a different option, I'll be happy to work with you if you plegde at that level.
Original Art
At the highest level you'll get an original ink & watercolor illustration on watercolor paper. Here are a couple of tiny examples. What you'll receive will be bigger and more fun!

I've Seen That Somewhere Before...
This avatar? Well, that's fantastic! I hope it made you smile. It's been floating around the internet since I made it back in October of 2003 and posted it to LiveJournal. And you know what happens to avatars posted there...
Anyway, this is the animation that eventually lead to the designs featured in this campaign. Anyone is welcome to use the avatar!
All or Nothing Funding
I've chosen to go with the All or Nothing funding option here at indiegogo, similar to the model at Kickstarter. The project can't come to life without the full funds because certain minimums need to be met at the print shop before they'll print the shirts.
This means that the project will benefit most from spreading the word. If you are unable to pledge, please help by sharing the project! That is a fantastic way to support the project and will be greatly appreciated!
Risks/Challenges
These are minimal. We have worked with the print shop in town before they are great. We expect no issues there. The other printed items will be coming from companies I've ordered prints from in the past and the quality is great.
As soon as June rolls around, your perks will start shipping!
Thank You!
Your support and spreading the word is greatly appreciated!
