THE BACKSTORY
Indian Creek Run is a story of a drug dealer on the run, a pursuing officer with a dark secret, a group of hunters, and the harsh reality faced by a divorced couple with a special needs child. All affected by the decisions of one person. The action, drama and tension unfold as police dog, Bandit the stunt dog, pursues the lead character for what turns out to be the most hellish day of his life on the historic "Trail of Tears". You can read more about the story and its characters, plus watch the trailer, at www.Indian-Creek-Run.com Spoiler alert: Don't let the final scene in the trailer fool you... beware of twists and last minute surprises!
When film director, John D Griffin, sat down to write the script last year, there were many discussions with crew and actors about what scenes would be affordable to film for a sizzle reel on a zero budget. One thing was certain, the core vision of revealing the perils of bad choices and bad relationships from a life on the run needed to remain intact. The story is based on true life experiences from people John encountered as a rock musician drifting across various major cities in the U.S. and in Mexico during the 1990's.
"This is a dramatic action story about the hazards of bad choices made by people from broken relationships and the consequences they face."
Our goal is to make a memorable ready-for-prime-time feature film for film festivals and TV. Most importantly, to connect and make a bold statement that will resonate with viewers in similar situations. We want cinema and storytelling fans like you to be part of this adventure and help us make this movie a reality. Last year we received a loud, standing ovation at our wrap party with live music and a screening in a hip and popular college food and music venue just a block away from Nashville's historic Belcourt Theatre. It was a packed house, standing room only. The turn out and requests inspired us to make the full feature come true. We are scheduled to start filming this fall 2013.
THE TEAM
John D Griffin - Producer, Director, Writer
John was introduced to the films of John Ford, Sergio Leone, Alfred Hitchcock, Orson Welles, Martin Scorsese, Stanley Kubrick, and Clint Eastwood, among many others including popular Mexican film makers at a young age while living in the country of Mexico in the 70's and later in the U.S. He has been a film buff and sound score enthusiast ever since.
In 2000 he was introduced to behind the scenes indie film productions performing several functions, producing soundtracks for a few movies, and attending film festivals. Since then he has developed a few diverse movie script ideas to pursue. “Indian Creek Run” is one of them.
Recently he has created, filmed, and produced middle Tennessee's most popular music entertainment video cast featuring his exclusive videos of interviews and live music performances of popular and upcoming artists at VivaNashvilleUSA.com. HOW WE WILL USE YOUR CONTRIBUTIONS AND INVESTMENT TO FILM DURING OCTOBER 2013.
Locations and props
Includes permits, props, police uniforms, police vehicle rentals, and quality actors. There are indoor scenes and outdoor action scenes including a police dog chase with police officers, vehicles, and horses. This means we will need animals, handlers, and their trainers. A large part of the film will show a continual outdoor chase scene on the historic "Trail of Tears". We also want to use areal scenes and trains to bring the story to life.
Equipment and crew hire
The vision is to make this film look like a million dollar blockbuster. We'll be hiring additional crew members and some very cool equipment as well as lighting equipment, power generators, jibs, dollies, and more to achieve the perfect look for the film.
Production fees
We want to get it right with pre-production, production, and post-production professional audio and video engineers. This means using professional facilities. Including, professional recording studios for post ADR, Foley, and soundtrack right here in Nashville, TN (aka, Music City, USA).
Catering
Long days with a big crew outdoors in the Tennessee hills make it necessary to keep everyone fed without leaving the set in order to make the best use of your investment and the crews’ time. Some key actors will be visiting from out of state with a limited amount of available time. No caviar or wine here. Only food and liquids for those long days filming chase scenes in the hills.
Insurance
We will be insuring both our equipment, our personnel, and animals to make sure everyone and everything is covered during production. There will be some rigorous physical demands from the lead actors involving the use of live animals with their trainers. Including film production E&O insurance.
Expenses
No private jets or parties. This is simply to cover things like transportation to get people to and from set. Domestic & international film festival submissions. Advertising in order to make the movie a success. Plus, title clearance report and taxes.
WE'RE MAKING THIS FILM TO MAKE A MEMORABLE PIECE OF CINEMATOGRAPHY.
You can be part of making this a piece of art and get credit for doing so along with great perks and gifts. Thank you for joining us and see you on the set !!!
