Who I Am
Videogames are my one true passion. I knew from the moment I pressed my first button, to move my first character, that they would be a big part of my life. I've been developing videogames as a hobby for many years (10+), and now finally feel I have the skills I need to take on this unique idea.
Right now I work making iPhone apps for a company, after completing my Bachelor of Information Technology. When I get home after working full-time hours, I work on my videogames hoping that one day I can become an independant videogame developer. Unfortunately I've found out that is hardly an ideal situation to be in.
Helping to fund Little Sim Peeps will give me the time and funds I need to make a great indie game and get it out there for people to enjoy.
Funding
All funds will go towards development of the game, and keeping myself alive and homed during that development time.
I have most of the basic equipment I need to develop Little Sim Peeps, I am used to working on a low budget keeping costs down wherever possible. Having funds will allow me to invest in tools to speed up development and make the game better as a whole.
The perks available to backers are only available during the campaign.
Note: This is a fixed campaign, the funds will not go through unless the goal is met.
About the Game
Survival
In order for your peeps to survive you must help them obtain food. Keep them fed, but don't overfeed them! A starving peep, or an overweight peep will have low immunity to sickness.
- Use fires and other objects to keep your peeps warm in the cold rain and snow, or keep them cool in the searing heat.
- Keep your peep happy by providing it with toys and good food. Don't let the food sit around for hours on end, or it could go green and have a chance to cause sickness in your peeps!
- Peeps continue to grow among other things while you are not playing the game.
- Different personality peeps will react differently in different situations.
- Peeps can be in states such as Happy, Sad, Angry, Confused, Disoriented, Love, Surprised, Panic, Hungry, Sick, and Dying.
Building
Depending on your preference, in the beginning you will be provided with some structures to help house your peeps, store food and objects, as well as protect them from other creatures. Or house objects to help peeps train to defend themselves. (If you do not train your peeps, the game will recognize that you are not interested in combat elements and you may continue to play passively.)
- Build your own structures block by block.
- Fill your structures with objects for your peeps to interact with.
Life can be tough for peeps
Random events will occur to your peeps environment, usually as a challenge to overcome. (Depending on your style of play will trigger certain events. eg: If your peeps are not trained to defend themselves making it impossible for your peeps to overcome the event, the events that require fighting peeps should not occur.)
- Meteor Showers
- Earthquakes
- Comet
- Wild Monster Raid
- Alien Invasion
- Zombie outbreak, etc
