Short Summary
Hello I am trumpeter Saskia Laroo, born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. With my 8 piece band we went to Zimbabwe and captured great video footage to produce a DVD with live concert action and a videoclip of the song especially composed for the event, "Africa Dancin". On the day of departure my computer crashed but I want this not to stop my plans.
I loved HIFA [Harare international Festival of the Art], the incredible Festival at which we performed. Also we were able to get footage of the real Africa. People loved the song we composed for them. Due to my computer crash, I've lost the original studio recordings but fortunately still have a rough demo. Perhaps the hard drive with the recordings can be fixed at a costly prize but I can't count on that.
Fans have been entreating me for a DVD of the band and I feel this is the right time for it. The band sounded great, the audience was wonderful. All that needs to be done is make a beautiful production. Also some TV stations namely Djazz.TV have been requesting live concert material for broadcasting. The studio recording of "Africa Dancin" plus video clip will be the bonus of the DVD.
The cost breakdown would be:
-Mixing and mastering live concert registration and song “Africa Dancin”: around US$ 1200
-Concert Footage and Videoclip editing: around US$ 600
-DVD manufacturing: 500 DVD 's around US$ 1200

If we don't reach the financial goal, the funds obtained will be saved for finishing the DVD project. Thus, whether we reach the goal or not, the DVD will come, though without reaching the goal it will take longer.

The last ten years especially we have done extensive touring worldwide with the Saskia Laroo Band and other Saskia Laroo formations. This is our most recent tour and again we have met many great people. We want to connect people of different ages and cultural backgrounds through music, therefore we love to travel and perform!
Our goal with this project is is to create a milestone memorandum of our music, to honour everybody who had made our Zimbabwe tour possible, further promote our music worldwide to our fans and for more people to enjoy it, to promote the wonderful HIFA Festival, the great country Zimbabwe and it 's amazing people!
