Since 2002 Livingston Parent Journal has been telling parents in Livingston County about local family events and providing them with parenting tips.
Many of you will remember that about a year ago, at the end of 2012, we experienced some financial difficulties and found ourselves unable to publish in December 2012 or January 2013.
Fortunately we were able to reorganize, cut our expenses, tighten up our billing procedures and resume publishing with the February issue.
Since then we have stayed current with our expenses, until now. At this time we find ourselves unable to pay the printer for the January issue.
In the long term, of course, we need to find our way to solid financial ground by expanding our advertiser base.
In the short term, we have concluded that we must pursue other funding in order to continue publishing. We have decided to try something that we have never done before in ten years of publishing: We are going to ask our friends and readers directly for financial support.
We need $2500 to meet our obligations to the printer for January. Any additional funds, up to $5000, will be used to pay in advance toward the February issue. If you prove to be even more generous, any additional funds will be applied toward our past due amount.
If you have benefited from our magazine, if you believe in our mission, and if you would like to help us out, please contribute and let your friends know about our campaign. We hope you will, so that we can continue to provide free helpful information to parents in Livingston County.
