Short Summary
Hi, my name is Korstiaan Vandiver but my friends; all who are reading this may call me Kors. I am the producer and soon to be writer/director of this amazing true story affectionately titled “LU”.
We are 168 Film Festival Team 114; 168 Film Festival is an international filmmaking speed competition. Hundreds of teams worldwide have 168 hours to shoot and edit a short film based on a theme and a Bible verse (plus 10 days pre-production). This year Echolight Studios will award the grand-prize; a $1,000,000.00 production deal. You cannot write until after the verse is drawn and you cannot shoot until productuion week. Incidently our team finished as finalist out of 200 films in last year's comeptiton. This year -- our goal is to win, but not without purpose. A link to 168 is below.

TEAM 114's 168 Verse arrived 5/13/13!!!
Romans 5:15 (NIV)
But the gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died by the trespass of one man, how much more did God's grace and the gift that came by grace of one man, Jesus Christ, overflow to the many!
It is so perfect thank you Lord!
This year's 168 theme is "Atonement: Winning the Other Side". Interestingly enough I found a story written in the The New Yorker titled "Atonement" about a Marine, Lu, who was diagnosed with PTSD or "Moral Injury" who years later sets out to find the family caught in the crossfire during a firefight in Iraq. A woman was wounded and her father & brothers were killed; they are the Karchadoorian family. He would later find the surving Karchadoorians; they would eventually reunite and Lu would ask their forgiveness. Wow! What a powerful story I thought so...
I sought out Lu and found him then after a few converstions and paperwork he granted me his life rights specifically for the 168 Film Festival and the opportunity to bring awareness to the horrible remnants of war left not only in his life but others as well. The story link is below. Also because my very own father has suffered with Moral Injury from his tour in Vietnam this subject is very, very dear to me.

The Impact
This experience as a director will allow the opportunity to compete at a high level in the international 168 Film Festival and afford the opportunity & possibility to produce a feature project with a possible $1,000,000.00 budget.
If this happens and this film is released theatrically we will donate a portion of the profits of the feature film to benefit soldiers affected by PTSD as well as civillian families who have lost loved ones during war. (See the Wounded Warrior Project & Finding the Karchadoorians oraganizations links below) This will also allow us the chance to produce a quality independent film portraying uplifting and positive roles through truthful storytelling on the big screen.
My passion is to make films that will uplift and trasnform people lives by making stoiries that present true faith against any and all adversity.
The festival is set for August 8th 2013; again all of your financial support will push us into the marketing portion of our campaign. By the way all cast & crew have agreed to defferred pay because of their love for me and this project.
Defferred pay in Hollywood means you are rarely paid. My desire is to see our crew and cast paid, it means a lot that they would so graciously give 4 days of their time without guarenteed pay because they believe in this project.
