Makoto Watch Company is the culmination of a lifelong dream realized by Ryan LeClair, a devoted watch enthusiast and collector with decades of experience. After years of delving into the world of horology and exploring the intricate details of fine timepieces, Ryan embarked on a new journey: creating his own watch brand.

His global travels led him to Japan, where he was captivated by the country’s profound culture, artistry, and dedication to perfection. This admiration for Japanese aesthetics and craftsmanship deeply influenced Ryan, inspiring him to bring a piece of that magic to the world through Makoto Watch Company.

What is Makoto

The name “Makoto” holds a special significance. In Japanese, Makoto represents Genuine Honesty, Authenticity, and Integrity. These values resonate deeply with our mission and ethos. We strive to embody these principles in every aspect of our brand—from the quality of our timepieces to the way we connect with our customers.

What we are looking for & What you will receive

We are asking you to join us in creating a brand that is known for quality, reliability, and great value for money.  Yes we are a new brand, however after selling my previous business I have the funding needed to ensure that the production of our watches will go through.  I have already committed to manufacturing our first 2 models, the Hamana & and the Hakusan.  I want everyone that is willing to commit to this project to know that they will receive their watch regardless of the outcome of this campaign. 

We are going to produce the Shibuya watch and I would love for you to take this journey with us.  100% of the funding received through this campaign will be going into the production of the Shibuya Grade 5 Titanium Watch.  You will receive at least 1 watch and 1 Bracelet or strap depending on your Perk selection.  We promise our backers that once our campaign is complete that we will place our production order immediately, and we will keep our backers up to date on the progress of manufacturing.

How your funding will help us grow

We are fully committed to growing our brand, and with your help we will continue to produce new and exciting models.  We currently have 2 fully manufactured dive watch models which will be available in March 2025, however we have already made the commitment to produce samples and prototypes for 3 more models.  We have already invested heavily into this brand to ensure that the people that invest their hard earned money will have the  peace of mind of knowing that we are not just a one hit wonder.  We intend to be here for decades and offer incredible watches at affordable prices, but we can't do it without wonderful watch enthusiasts like yourself.

Visit us at the Vancouver Timepiece Show

We will be showcasing our first 3 models at the Vancouver Timepiece Show which takes place Apr 25th to 27th, if you are in the area we would love to see you.  This will be the first opportunity for everyone to get hands on with the Shibuya watches.  We can't wait for the world to get the chance to check out Makoto Watches.
