Magic for Everyone
I believe that we can change ourselves and, through ourselves, change the world.
Magic is the art of using ceremony to provoke real, lasting changes in your life. I've practiced magic for 15 years and have used traditional ceremonies to help people of all backgrounds.
But many people can't afford to hire a magician. In New Orleans, magic is woven into local culture and history - but is often out of reach.
I'm creating an open-door workspace to provide spells to whoever needs them, at no fixed cost. Together we can outfit the space to serve the community with positive, life-changing magic ceremonies.
What We Need & What You Get
We need $1100 which will help cover up-front startup costs. These include:
- $500 for shrine materials and installation
- $300 for six months of dedicated business phone
- $100 for offerings and materials
- $100 for printing flyers
- $100 buffer zone
With these costs out of the way, donations from the people we serve will keep us running indefinitely.
PERKS: We want to make Magic to the People benefit everyone... especially our supporters! Everyone who donates $15 or more gets a geomancy reading and the gifts just scale up from there. Everything from custom spells, to enchanted paintings, to summoning a spirit just for you. What catches your eye?
NEW: Extra Goals
Thanks to you, we reached our basic goal of $1,100. But we can do even more if we reach higher goals of $2000 or $3100. Here's how:
$2,000: If we raise this much or more I will create a how-to book on magic and ALL backers will get a free digital copy! This book will focus on the kind of purpose-oriented, rapid magic that makes it possible for Magic to the People possible to serve walk-ins.
$3,100: If we reach this goal we will do everything above and create Magic to the People: The People’s Template, a starter kit for other communities to launch a Magic to the People of their own.
ALL backers will get a free copy, plus it will also be publicly available on a pay-what-you-choose basis. Everyone will have access.

No One Is Turned Away
The promise of Magic to the People is that NO ONE is turned away. This is where people can come who don't know what else to do or where else to go. Or, people who just need a little help or nudge in their life. The door will be open at set times each week, with evening and daytime hours to make it easier.
We're located in a part of New Orleans that's close to impoverished mixed-race communities, well to do middle class streets, and bohemian artists. We'll be able to serve a large cross-section of locals within easy walking distance.
Visitors to Magic to the People will get real benefits:
- Someone who will listen to their problems openly & non-judgmentally
- A traditional ceremony or spell performed immediately, on the spot
- A talisman or charm they take home with them
- Advice on how to keep the momentum going after they leave
- They choose what, if anything, they drop into the donation jar
