About Make Fashion
The Make Fashion initiative is a collaboration of great minds who want to explore and demonstrate the convergence fashion and technology.
Creativity and innovation are our guiding principles. We are inspired by wearable technology as both function and fashion: from awe-inspiring responsive runway dresses to practical medical and scientific wearables.
Our runway gala in Calgary, Alberta is our largest annual event, where we pair fashion designers and artists with engineers and tech enthusiasts. The combination of skills and ideas creates stunning results and groundbreaking fusions of light, fashion and performance. See for yourself with the summary of our sold-out 2013 gala here.
The 2014 Gala
We are currently fundraising for our 2014 gala. We are aiming to be even bigger and better in our upcoming year. The gala is scheduled for March 1st.
Our 2014 gala has a lineup of eleven artists including internationally renowned artists Erina Kashihara and Dr. Patricia Flanagan. See our lineup of 2014 artists here.
Your funds will help pay for our artists' time, materials, and to bring in international artists for the event.
The Impact
Your contribution will help:
- Pay our talented designers and tech enthusiasts for eleven 80+ hour projects.
