The Roster
The Ivy and Coney team is made up by Jamie Hess, Adam Fry, Josh Saltzman, and Chris Powers. Between the four of us we hold decades of food/beverage experience as well as the management and ownership experience necessary to take this little spot to the big leagues!
What is Ivy and Coney?
Ivy is the gross brown plant that lines the outfield at Wrigley Field. Wait... it's green and lush... well it's both, but it takes time to come into its own (like us). Coney dogs are as integral to Detroit culture as cars and tigers and red wings... or... yeah, they're pivotal! Ivy and Coney is the bridge between the Midwest and Washington D.C. It brings the atmosphere of a Chicago corner bar with Detroit prices and Midwestern hospitality to our Capital. Catering not only to the Illinois (Josh and Adam) and Michigan (Chris) transplants in D.C., Ivy and Coney comes with a native Washingtonian (Jamie) to make sure everyone who walks in our door is at home. You'll be able to find Ivy and Coney at 1537 7th St NW in Shaw.
Why do you need my help?
We'll circumvent the D.C. bureaucracy here: We don't need help to open. We could open up a hole-in-the-wall tomorrow, but that's not what anybody wants. We need the extra push to give you a GREAT neighborhood bar. We're 95% of the way there, but with your help we can add things like custom-built bar stools, HD TVs, a painted image of the Detroit and Chicago skylines to the edge of our bar, heck - if you help us knock this goal out of the park, we'll add a ROOF DECK to the bar!!
But what do I get if I help?

How the Liquor Lockers work:
Normally, you would maintain a minimum average purchase of $100/month. Who doesn't want to get that taken care of, though? If you contribute to that level, we will fund up to your minimum purchase each month and you'll get to have that locker! (You will only be responsible for the difference of any cost over the minimum).
Another bonus is that you'll get to share your locker supplies with friends! Come on in after a concert at the 9:30 club and share your top shelf bottle with your crew and save some money by skipping the prices at other spots!
Lastly, we'll be doing monthly liquor, beer and wine tastings at Ivy, with different distributors bringing in free tastes of some of their most sought after product (i.e. great scotches, rare wines, vintage bourbons and limited-editions brews.) All liquor lockers get to come to unlimited tastings. What could be better than that?

We'd love to reach our goal and give you the great neighborhood bar that you want, but I bet you're wondering what could be possible if you helped us shatter our goal here...
Let us tell you.
If we can reach $20,000 then we'll open up the facade of our building and put in a giant floor-to-ceiling window!
If we can reach $50,000 then we'll build an open-air roof deck extending out back!
If we can reach $80,000 then we'll build that same roof deck, only this time with a retractable glass covering so that you have a year-round roof deck!
